It is, in retrospect, very obvious that the author of this was headed towards a major depressive episode considering how many of these comics are about being unable to find even the smallest scrap of joy in anything to the point that you resent anyone who does.

That's not a remotely unusual sentiment for someone in the middle of a severe depressive episode, age has nothing to do with it. I'm in my mid-thirties and that kind of thinking was uncomfortably recent.

Your insurance is required by law* to either find you a provider in your network or negotiate a one time deal with someone outside of network. So call up your insurance directly and tell them they need to find your a therapist. That's what I had to end up doing.

We're encouraged to not call and talk to our insurance because they're really really bad at what they do. We've got this 80/20 thing where they pay 80% of the first $X and then nothing until we meet our deductible. I called them and three different people assured me that wasn't a thing their plan offered. I had to get HR involved to get an answer to that question which is absurd.

The half that covers meds once held me at the pharmacy for 40 minutes while they struggled to figure out why they were denying the flu meds. The official reason was "improper packaging" they wanted it in a bottle not blister pack.

I left with a blister pack of meds only it was in a blue box by a different manufacturer
