Well I managed to get out of my Thanksgiving poo poo in Mississippi- and will be flying home on a chartered flight with a bunch of Covid-negative colleagues. Wife wants marriage counseling now lmfao. Also just learned my SIL is flying from FL to MS with her niece whose been in school and just god drat. I feel like I just dodged one of those giant bullets from Super Mario.

Melbourne opening er up changes with only one active case and 23 days with no cases: -15 visitors in your home per day (up from 2) -groups of 50 outside -masks will no longer be required outside unless you're in a crowd -300 people allowed at restaurants but still 1 person per 2sq m max -in person uni comes back -150 people at gyms -150 people for indoor sports -500 for outdoor sports -150 for indoor religious stuff -150 for movie theatres per space In mid Dec: -no longer required to work from home if you can, but only 25% of staff can come back Next open er up announcement on 6 December. My step-FIL is currently fully sedated on a vent. I haven’t seen the guy since my wedding. Typical boomer but a kind dude who was fun to go eating and drinking with. Apparently the last text messages my husband had with him consisted of him engaging in full-on covid denialism. Sounds like he caught it from some family gathering. Between him and my mom planning to go to loving Disney in a few weeks, I feel like I’m watching the boomers I know and love wander into a burning building of their own accord. Lol death drive. Yup

RIP Mom. She was doing really well, avoiding outside trips and wearing a mask, but my cop (and bastard) brother got shot. She is now at the hospital with my non-maskubg Aunt and Uncle and anyone that is there because of Covid. I hope she somehow avoids it, but I'm not feeling that great about it.

What’s the deal with opening schools? There’s been protests outside my apartment every weekend about opening K-12 schools. I assumed they were idiot covid deniers, but the local chatter online from them is the exact opposite, calling out idiots not wearing masks and fighting against anti-vaxxers, while insisting that “the science” says opening schools doesn’t increases cases.
