I’ve been watching eclectus parrot content. They seem really cuddly and affectionate. I enjoy those birds

We're on the migratory path of starlings, and so have been having murmurations landing on the rooftops around us every few days for the last couple of months. They make good laser zap sounds as they sit on the tv aerials and try to hack our wifi. Look how cute these babies are! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzi1qNykIu0

Crosspost from the Funny Pictures thread, because "corvid says a swear" is my favorite genre of short video online.

Heath posted:I don't know what's happening there, but I love it all the same. Water birds like to eat food wet. The food in the bowl is dry, so he wets each mouthful manually. The fish have learned birb=food so they get all up in his business to catch any crumbs he drops. You could probably do the same thing on land with a school of unruly labrador retrievers.

Holy crap! That...goose(?) is being carried around by that school of fish. I don’t think he has to paddle. Just a few regurgitated crumbs a day and he is now Goose:King of Goldfish.

FYI this is easily done with wild birds that live around popular camping areas. Hold out a handful of seed and you will have more friends than you know what to do with in no time.

I’ve tried pantomiming holding a cup of nectar while actually holding nothing, and they were too smart for it.

There's a forested park in town here where the chickadees are so used to being fed that if they see you holding anything (say, for instance, a cell phone, but I've also had this happen with a small notebook) they'll come land on it and look hopefully at you. Absolutely zero fear. This is especially true in late fall and winter, when you can actually get gangs of small birds following you along the trail, just in case you pull some sunflower seeds out of your pocket.
