SFO (I know, I know) has chaos's thing be that they can only take certain regions like Middenheim and turn them into fortresses, full-fledged cities, with them only being able to raze pretty much anything else.

It's funny, I remember some people here complaining about how SFO capped Skavenslaves, but considering just how cost effective they are as tarpits and chaff, I really cannot blame the modders for doing so. If you're going to have a chaff army escorting your gun army, you're going to have to pay a modest fee for it at the very least through clanrats instead of basically gently caress all

Gods I remember fighting one battle as Gelt against three skaven armies that slowly had to pour onto the battlefield from the opposite side and just raining down firepower as they came, praying that the ammo didn't run out before the rats did. I really hope we get to see that here.

Still don't really know how to avoid Imrik's campaign devolving into "Grimgor hurls 10 billion stacks of black orcs at your face, every single turn". It's literally always that, for me. I can't get away from him. Grimgor krumps the stunties and then makes a beeline right for me with literally every orc and goblin ever. Imrik is super strong but when I am barely affording one army, barely holding the territory that allows me to fund that one army, and rarely if ever able to recuperate before yet another pile of black orc doomstacks get thrown at my face. It's tedium. I like Imrik but holy poo poo just one time I would like Grimgor to get dumpstered by the dawi.

Both Imrik and Malus have the problem of not having the underway stance once you reach the mountains, which makes fighting there an absolute slog. As Malus I got the islands, got Krok-gar’s jungles, razed Imrik to the ground and got non aggression pacts with the local rats, orcs and skeletons with my street cred. Malus then hosed off to the southern realms and Ulthuan beyond, slowly crawling through the mountains. What I’m saying is just take Imrik’s hellstack on a road trip somewhere else.

id like to say skaven will be fun to watch but people dont pick skaven that often and when they do they lose because skaven are actually kind of a mess to play in MP if youre not pretty great at micro still, ive been saying since the game came out that wolf rats would be a huge boon for skaven, so i want to see if i was correct at all. skaven armies have always had a problem with being kind of immobile and, tho having GUNS GUNS GUNS helps they still have had a problem where they're not that great at zoning out things via threats of fast response if the enemy steps too close, so they should be able to be a bit better at taking advantage of out of position enemies and threatening the opponent's backline. tho they do end up paying extra on the standard rat dogs due to them having AP, which while nice, is kind of not entirely needed on the skaven, who already have a lot of options for messing up elite/armored infantry. they're more expensive than just using night runners but otoh night runners are kind of not that great at the above tasks due to lacking the stealth that gutter runners have and also not being all that fast all things considered. rat wolves should be able to keep away from enemy cav that comes after them which run right over night runners without a care Tiler Kiwi fucked around with this message at 08:24 on Nov 26, 2020 |
