You want to beat other people? In that case, you want to be able to dump a lot of garbage on them at once. One way to do this is to build a wider well 2 or 3 columns. But your tower high and keep a well off to the side. Then when you want to attack, you just dump pieces down your well to complete lines and send garbage to the other person. That's how I've done it.

Yes this is good and as a bonus it leaves you with a lot of nearly complete lines that you can combo

A 2 wide well will let you complete a line with any piece but a 4x1.

So what are the best tips for maxing out Microsoft rewards? I’m really happy I was able to cancel my Cyberpunk Pre-order and then redo it so I could get the 6,000 points. My goal is just to get as many 3 month Ultimate Game Passes as possible.

I can’t stress enough how much I love the availability of older titles. I never thought I’d get to play the original Mercenaries again. I do wish the sequel and Saboteur were on there though...but I can’t complain too much. Also I find it funny that I’m spending more time playing mass effect three and older titles then the new assassin‘s creed or watch dog legion (though thank you to Ubi for allowing my in game purchases to transfer from my PS4 copy).

Also goddamn those deals are so good. Maybe I shouldn’t have bought Andromeda for 10 bucks, but for 10 bucks unless it makes my system catch on fire...it probably won’t be a waste of money.

It turns out you eventually get pretty good at spam rotating blocks when they fall instantly most of the time.

I might still be tempted to buy the ultimate edition of Control because I expect the version coming to Game Pass won't have the Series X enhancements. I'll wait and see though.

If you have Chrome on PC get the Automatic Bing Searches extension and have it run every day. That's 4,500 reward points a month right there. The same system should also do the daily quizzes which will meet another 1,500 a month.

If you have Xbox time each day and have not already done so, installed game pass games with easy achievements for both daily and weekly challenges. This can get another 2,000 over the course of a month.

Then do as you did, look out for stamp card for stuff you were doing anyway. Was crazy when they did the gamer score for rewards points last month netting another 10,000 points.

Launch day adventure continues.

The order no longer appears in my billing history. Microsoft did re-up the charge on my card today so that’s something. And I thankfully have a screenshot of the order, so I was able to quote the order number to an agent that I chatted with who told me the order is still there (but suggested the pending charge is somehow on the card’s end not their end).

He then directed me to the Xbox support page for more information (I guess he was a store and billing specialist who don’t handle Xbox things) and that page is a gauntlet of not quite applicable questions you have to answer to try to find one that will let you talk to a human. No luck there.

Why are companies so bad at customer support? I’m not even sure how I found a human to talk to the first time or if I could manage to find them again.

I bought an Xbox One controller to use on my computer awhile back that turned out to have a bad A button. Their register system recognizes the serial number but not as a controller and none of their controller support options take you to a person or allow for a repair without a serial number they just all bring you to the same page asking you for the serial number. I gave up after awhile and use a PS4 controller and don't play any Xbox gamepass games on my computer. I should try again sometime but gently caress like none of their website decisions make any sense.

Nier runs surprisingly well on the One S, but I attribute that to the lack of AA and lower graphics settings in general. It'd run/look way better on my gaming PC (i7 4770, GTX 1660 Ti), but it's not on Game Pass for PC so :rip:

Still though, the gameplay is yeah, it's drat good and so much fun. I love the music too, and the art direction. Looking forward to the Replicant remaster. And I'm pretty sure I have Revengeance on Steam; maybe I'll give that a whirl after too if I don't find Fallen Order's combat as fun.

I still really like how it looks standing up.

Before I got one I thought it looked absolutely terrible on its side in photos, I was kind of planning on rearranging things in my entertainment center just so it would stand upright and not look awful.

In real life it still doesn't look great on its side, the proportions are just all wrong, but the thing about the design is it is so flat and plain and matte that it just disappears when tucked into a shelf, so gently caress it, on its side it goes.

You stack up Gold time up to a max of 36 months / 3 years. If you do that first, then buy a month of Gamepass Ultimate, it will convert your stacked Gold to Ultimate 1 for 1. You cannot have a live Ultimate sub to get 1 to 1, if you buy a month of Ultimate then add 12 months of Gold, it converts at 3 to 1 (I think?) instead. If you have Ultimate running, wait until it expires, add the Gold time, and resub to Ultimate ;)

People have mentioned using a VPN to buy 12 months Gold codes from Brazil as one of the cheapest legit sources, shop around as YMMV (if any friends work for MS the Gold codes are dirt cheap on the MS employee store).
