To be fair, the average person's experience with Philips head screws is in DIY furniture kits, light fixtures and the like and the cheap screws packaged with them are chowdered the first time one tries to disassemble and rebuild them. Sure, busting through the plastic or particle board would be worse, but what people see is crap screws.

The nice thing about flathead is any screw can be a flathead if you have a hacksaw. It's saved me in a number of stripped screw situations.

There was a period where through a combination of lovely Chinesium screws and over-tightening, every Dell laptop I worked on seemed to have one screw that wouldn't loosen and ended up stripped and I'd have to dremel a slot into it. Philips suck. If it's a low torque situation give me a flat head, if it's high torque like hardiebacker or something then give me a torx or square bit head.

Electrical terminal screws have ~universal~ heads that can be turned with either a bladed or Philips screwdriver. Those drivers both have their own problems, through. Philips wants to strip and bladed wants to slip out. So people who regularly work with the things have special screwdrivers that engage with the slot to get maximum torque and with the cross part to keep the bit centred.  Ironic. There’s a similar thing with stage lighting, where wing nuts are used because they can be turned by hand, but everyone agrees that’s not good enough and wing nut wrenches on them. At my job we have a lot of external people who reach out to us with inquiries or requests and at the moment, these people will send an email to the group email with their inquiry. I want to set up a more efficient system where their inquiries are shown in one area where the team can view what's come in and assign themselves or others the relevant tasks to handle. I would say we get about on average 1 to 5 requests a day so it's not that much, but this number could increase a lot more as the business grows. The information that we would like to be able to gather from these external people are obviously their name, contact information, a description of their inquiry, and an attachment of a file if needed. I was originally thinking of setting up a Google Forms but wanted to ask here if anyone else has any other recommendations for an easy to set up ticket tool. I know some of the other teams within the company use Asana or JIRA but I'm pretty sure that's meant for internal employees.

It sounds like you are looking for a customer-facing ticketing system. Things like ZenDesk are popular at the moment (I don't really like zendesk, but it works).

It's also used for a cool impossible-to-translate trick where you use the kanji for one word but put another word in the furigana, so you're saying one thing but really mean the other. Like if there was a way in English to write the word "dog" but with instructions to pronounce it as "friend". Can also just be really pretentious, or annoying when parents name their children a normal-looking Japanese name in kanji but you're meant to pronounce it as an English word.

Been trawling around the forums looking for the appropriate place to ask this... So I've been asked by my job to put together a list of all the items we'd need to create a new video studio in our new building. It'll mostly be for demoing our products (computers and tablets) and talking about tech topics I know I could just start googling around but it's always better to get first-hand advice IMO.
