The author of the article does say they have issues playing something like Dead Space, too, so I wouldn't call it a mild case that's suddenly triggered by this sequence.

Yeah come to think i used to play MWO with goon who had developed epilepsy. MWO definitely had instances flashing on night maps but Indont recall any incidents. I watched Yongyeas non spoiler review on youtube and thought it was pretty good. He highlighted several technical issues that he had experienced but stated generally the game was fun to play. Think he will revisit the technical issues once he sees the day one patch

Well on the bright side the GeForce is a go. I tested The Division 2 (highest end thing I had) and with Ethernet plugged it, I honestly could tell this was all cloud based one bit. Hopefully GoG setup is done by launch day.

I think this discussion of how raytracing and light path tracing works my Digital Foundry using the Minecraft engine is probably the most helpful and clear demonstration of the technology and what it’s trying to achieve. As an aside, I personally love Minecraft with rtx on. I don’t play it, nor do I even own it or a system that could do it, but I find it a remarkable juxtaposition of modernity with the classic block world that really elevates that world to being so much more. No what ifs, "did you do X?", different builds or even just going back over parts of the game for whatever reason. Then they have to make the review. And they have 7 days from unlock to embargo being lifted. Not to mention many reviewers for the big sites also work as on air personalities and other functions so they also have to work those hours. Which is why there is no middleground. The conditions to do more than a surface level okay or not okay doesn't exist for a day one reviewer.

Yeah. The reviewer just said it was similar, not that it was one. And I expect that a person with epilepsy would know when something is similar to a pattern purposefully designed to cause seizures. And while it's definitely accidental it still speaks pretty poorly of the devs. They seriously couldn't figure that a sequence of extreme flashing lights might cause some seizures? We've all heard about the porygon episode of Pokemon.
