A design and manufacture of a morden nuclear attack submarine ... is a bit tricky but loads of people have managed it before. A game with space ships ... Now that's some next level enstien poo poo

I find it hard to sympathise with people demanding refunds for cp2077 despite most having played the game for 12 hours. (They are getting them) I was entertained for 5 dollars an hour but it was not as good as I had hoped = OUTRAGEOUS CDPR should feel ashamed and don't deserve a penny!

They are giving out refunds whole sale for the old console users. I think they should be bold and be like no worries have your money back sorry you are unhapppy. Just know we plan to increase the game price by 5 bucks every three months and have no sales for 3 years.

The Titanic posted:It's like a kaleidoscope. Sure you found this super cool thing with this certain twist and shake of the junk in there... but you keep twisting and shaking for the next cool formation, and any one singular formation is not somewhere you stop at and say "I've found the perfect combination, I'm done", because there's more, always more, and your formation doesn't really matter any. And the next person that picks it up is not just going to sit there and admire your finding... they're gonna immediately start twisting and turning it as well. Best analogy for that procgen hollowness so far. "Look I found a random pattern that looks kinda neat!" is just not a moving experience for me. It works for games like Diablo because they only use it as a tool to make the dungeon's layout random, for replayability sake and to dovetail into the later rift runs - but you'll notice, particularly in D3, that the few rooms that are fixed design always have a better feel than the stitched-together generic parts. You could make an argument that reality itself is procedurally generated, in a sense, and earth is interesting and has tons of incredibly cool poo poo, but that's because the laws of physics and the elements and forces in play are immeasurably complex and naturally interact to create wonder. Procgen planets are nowhere near that level; they tend to be flat biomes, hills, mountains, and some water based on the most fundamental rules imaginable, and it feels like it. Even a simple cartoony WOW level feels better because the designers think about how they want it to feel first, then add touches like mountains, rivers, waterfalls, valleys, etc. Some unrealistic things may come but the emotion of the zone is always intact. SC using procgen to go for size over content was like shooting themselves in both feet at once. Now it's too big for them to make interesting, and the magic of that personal touch was the only thing they could have leaned on to make the game feel distinct, if bad. They lack the ability to compete with actual game developers, so now it's buggy AND dull.

The Sickening and Heartbreaking Truths of the Fourth Stimpire posted:In the last 500 years, the Fourth Stimpire has dominated four systems, which it has united into one starzone, Stimsis. The Fourth Stimpire has origins from the Ten Empire War in which 10 of the United Stimpires revolted against each rules. All empires except for the fourth swore freedom upon their citizens. There is no free speech in the Fourth Stimpire, and all self-controlled transportation has been made illegal without undergoing painful medical verification methods, in which arteries are severed without pain resistant, operated entirely by machines. The way they work claim to be the most hygenic and healthy way possible, but these machines often rub against pain points, causing great deals of pain to patients. The heart is then extracted from the body and placed into a glass grinding machine. Various energy centers are also dissected and replaced with dangerous transplants. After the painful, 52 hour surgical procedure, patients will then have to use a fused guidance tool, which pumps painful resistors into the body every 2 hours. The pain they have caused is so bad, the victim would freeze in a tense position. They would then collapse afterwards.

Lladre posted:Im having fun playing 2077, just got an email from CI The eye tracking doesn't even work, just head. I'd dare say Tobii just scooped all the cash Mr Space threw in the general direction while he snorted another line and they backed out the door with a rictus smile. Citizer already has head tracking baked in from Cryengine, it likely works by default. How many Idrii will you bet eye tracking never works, as it will require an additional subroutine "layered" upon head tracking, and they probably can't hijack the mouse as it's an integral part of the "UI" Robert Space has hand crafted.

Lucky for this guy taking screenshots doesn't require a good GPU, since you'll already be in single digit FPS it's like playing the whole game as a screenshot. PERFECT Also just lol that someone found another way to scam SC zealots out of more money, and this time using the 'ol reverse jpeg switcheroo

Every single line of the notes were solid af with zero filler or elevator panel updates instead all being things I saw multiple posts about and one by one they addressed nearly all the complaints people had. On top of that they added the 2 new ships and even added TIR support for the non VR folks which even works with Freetrack and poo poo loving hilarious citizens try to use EA as their example of corrupt publishers when even at their worse they make crobbler and co look like fools and crooks and examples like Squadrons it's not fair to Motive even use them in the same sentence let alone compare their practices.
