Zyla posted:is twelve men really worth blowing your challenge and a time out down 14 If one of your coordinators/booth guys are absolutely certain about it it’s probably a good challenge to use. They’ve been pretty good about booth reviews for catches and stuff. But it’s the browns so I look forward to the ridiculous scenario that will occur with 3 minutes left in the game that makes this a terrible idea.

Chinatown posted:isnt he just a sportscenter teleprompter reader who got promoted to live calls? hes loving garbage. No. Aside from doing SportsCenter, Steve Levy was their number 2 play by play guy for the NHL for like a decade until ESPN gave that up in 2004 (Notably calling a pair of 5 OT playoff games in 2000 and 2003). After that, he’s been doing college games for a while, including a few years with Brian Griese, and I think they’d do the late MNF opening weekend game too. I thought he’s been okay, but ESPN has been really struggling to replace what they had with Tirico-Gruden for a while now...

Ches Neckbeard posted:Catch a number? It was Donovan Peoples-Jones. He probably wouldn't have come up with the block but on that Mayfield scramble he just stood there for what seemed like a long time after it was clear Mayfield was either running and he should block or he should take off on a scramble route or just...do something. Just looked really weird to me.

Flikken posted:For as flag happy these refs are, I'm dumbfounded they would miss 12 men on the field This is the thing I was talking about in the NV thread. Dumb poo poo like that makes me suspicious of hell of the NFL even if it's more that the NFL has loving nuked their referee training program, cut the hell out of pay, keeps screwing with the rules, etc. Somehow spot some amazingly ticky tacky poo poo on random plays just when one team or the other needs it, miss some obvious as hell poo poo on a different play. Disclaimer I don't actually think the refs are cheating this game. I just really hate NFL refs, more specifically what the NFL has done with them over the years.
