Is he using his wings to kill the glare? That's amazing.

I am not good at photos and I didn't want to scare the little hoppers, so sorry for the quality. Here are some birds from my backyard in Humboldt County, CA: I THINK they're a kind of oriole? I tried looking them up but I am not a birder, I just like looking at them.

The one in the middle here looks like a Lesser Goldfinch to me. The ones on either side of it are less clear, but I'm guessing that they're also Lesser Goldfinches, not American Goldfinches.

We've had some odd visitors lately in my area, I snapped a few shots with my phone while my gf busted out her fancy camera: Woody the wood duck, the only one around (??) Hanging out with the other ducks. Very squeaky call, like a dog toy, and very sassy to the other ducks. A friendly muscovy duck who liked to pose for us. There were also some odd ball ones she got photos of that seemed to be some kind of Teal (ID app kept saying cinnamon teal but we're way too east for that). Waiting to hear from the bird group though! Also the uhh hooded mergansers with their fancy hats keep moving around so no luck yet sadly.

Keep an eye out for guys about this size that are streaky brown with a little yellow in the wings. Pine Siskins are a related species of finch that are everywhere this year.

Oh no. That is too much parrot. A toddler with bolt cutters on his face should not be that large. Is that his owner, or his hostage?
