The old bioware forums were a general hive of scum and villainy on all sides, fans and creators alike.

Who else remembers the "what would tali sweat taste like?" thread? Once that topic has sunk in I want you to imagine what anyone would smell like if they lived in a fully enclosed suit 24/7 because I can only imagine the most disgusting everything barely kept in check with a flood of antiseptics.

The most bizarre (and therefor realistic) sex encounter Shep had was with Sha'ira, the Asari Consort, during ME 1.

Sha'ira: You are a great being, Shepherd, and will do great things. That is my gift of words.

Shepherd: Really? That's it? Aren't you a gently caress goddess? I want to gently caress.

Sha'ira, internally: God dammit.

I remember it insofar as David Gaider's verbose comments were insufferable, Tali Sweat and the harassment of Jennifer Hepler notwithstanding.

"Militant Islamic Borg" is still a WTF description of the Qunari.

I love how many mods there are dedicated to unBiowaring everything. There's one that replaces this line, another that gets rid of the gratuitous Miranda rear end shots whenever she talks to you, one that replaces Samara's armor with regular commando armor, and more!

There was that official "alterantive appearance" DLC that gave Miranda & Jack actual good outfits. If I recall it was full body armor (actual armor) and a cyber-biker costume respectively.

And then put Bioware's signature terrible headwear on it. I got a mod to remove the visor from Miranda and the low res space shades from Jack. Miranda's is actually a retextured version of the Cerberus assault armour from one if the equipment packs.

ME2 was great but yeah, outfits on some of the female characters were not good!

like there's one mission where you're on the Derelict Reaper which is in orbit over a gas giant and you go out on a catwalk and Jack is there with a rebreather over her nose and mouth and otherwise not very well clothed, which seems dangerous! much better in ME3 where even Liara's default outfit at least looks like it could be armored and you can switch her to proper armor with a proper helmet

All the rebreathers in 2 got real dumb. And there's so many scenarios where characters can have exposed skin in extremely hazardous conditions.

With Mass Effect 4 Bioware has possibly one of the easiest softballs in gaming history. Just make Mass Effect: Sorry, and even if it's mediocre it will save the company. No more kid, Sheppard beat Harbinger's face in personally, saved the galaxy, and now there are more adventures. All they have to do.

Well not only did Bioware not clear the incredibly low hurdle of more adventures in the Mass Effect universe they used the hurdle to bludgeon a studio to death. And even a year later Bioware thoughts on why Andromeda failed was because it released at the same time as Zelda.

They did like 60% of Mass Effect. It was some of the things you liked about Mass Effect and then a lot of elements that are basically the same thing (Nexus/Citadel) but worse and obviously attempts to recreate the ME magic without knowing why those worked in the first place

I fully expect ME4 to look reasonably like ME1 but the characters & writing will be so off it may as well be something entirely different called Galactic Dinner Service in a game about a space diner.

We'll have mandatory_turian who alternates between ultra serious or jive, mandatory_krogan who sounds like dime store Marcus Fenix only nobody remembers who that is anymore, mandatory_asari who will be super ridiulously quirky funny joke girl haha who is also space university professor, then a couple of diverse_human whose settings will turned up to "cringe". Oh and token_self_insert_new_alien who is only in there because the new lead writer thought them up and forced their inclusion over all internal objections. Token_self_insert_new_alien will get more lines and cutscenes than any other squad mate but be mysteriously unpopular with the players.

A literally re-use of everything from Andromeda just reskinned for Milky Way hijinks would probably sell 5 mil+ copies if they brought back the ME3 style multiplayer.

Here's your ship, the Local Flyer, and you are the glorious Relayopener who's been tasked to pick and choose which dormant Mass Relays to activate and explore the other side of, and once you find the best new sector reaches "explorability" you can get to send colonist teams in to establish outposts.

Just have Liara in the advising wizard role who constantly makes references to the good old days when she helped stomp out the reapers.

You can't re-use any assets from Andromeda in a good ME game because that would require still using the Frostbite engine instead of something actually suitable, like Unreal.

They'll be making it in the Forstbite engine.

Especially because they blame Zelda. A Switch launch title, which meant Zelda while selling outstanding had a small player base(in March/April) because having a Switch was the limiter to playing. Andromeda sold millions of copies to gamers that didn't play Zelda for at least 6 months if ever. Someone who bounced off Andromeda in March didn't do so because they got Zelda in December.

It’s very funny to me that Mass Effect Andromeda wasn’t even the best game where you go to a place called Meridian to prevent a fanatical villain from reviving an ancient machine race to come out in the same month.
