The sheer awkwardness of the phrasing required to make the second clause comprehensible proves that it's an idiotic interpretation. Ralph is just dreaming about being a viking

Look I don't mind that you people think this is what the joke is. English is a dynamic language full of ambiguity and regional phrasing, but being incredibly not funny isn't "better"

Imo it's funny that Ralph doesn't understand what dreams are and instead sees it as a consistent alternate reality in which he is a viking.

Moe thinks they were paid to scream because it's a sneaky marketing technique to convince people the barbershop quartet is actually good and he's surprised to find out that the barbershop quartet is actually good.

I once had this sort of thing with the Future Stock episode of Futurama. When the 80s Guy offers Fry hair gel and he says he makes his own, my friend interpreted it as Fry using his own home made hair gel. I interpreted it as Fry just being so unwashed and greasy that he could gel his hair with the grease coming from his scalp.

"Was Moe shooting his shotgun unrelated to his 'give them one of these' dance, and he thinks you should shoot people, or was the shooting part of the dance itself?"

You see, when Nelson slaps that guy in the back of the head, it is not to antagonise him; rather Nelson, whose absent father had previously been a decent and attentive father prior to a peanut allergy incident resulting him being enslaved as a circus freak for several years, had previously been to Cape Canaveral with his father and knew how relentlessly boring that place is. Meanwhile, Winnipeg offers such delights as the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, and is home to numerous Canadian ballet spectacles.

Nelson wanted to ensure that this ill-tempered man's children made the most of their Spring vacation and that learned to appreciate the local wonders of Winnipeg, rather than visiting literally the most boring place in Florida.

(Hi Simpsons writers, I'm equally as unfunny as you please hire me)

Not sure if this has gone way over my head, but I always figured it was a reference to the possibly true story the Beatles' promoter paid girls to scream at their appearances early on in their career to build up their hype and make them seem even more popular. Moe is shocked to find out the Be Sharps were genuinely that popular.
