A couple days ago the local news threw this out, feds looking into a plot to take down substations and poo poo by neo-nazis. Don't remember seeing it here. https://www.kktv.com/2020/12/23/lights-out-neo-nazi-plot-to-disable-power-grid-allegedly-included-attacking-sub-station-in-colorado/ I'd be curious if the idiots caught up by the feds on this are in any way affiliated with this poo poo in Nashville.

I don’t know, to me Setting up up an explosive rigged RV with remote trigged audio set up seems a lot more complex than shooting at powerlines or substations.

The documents were inadvertently unsealed last week before the mistake was discovered and they were quickly sealed again. I don't think these morons could put together something like the RV time bomb with automated warning.

Yeah, that's a good point. I'd read it a few days ago on the shitter and clearly the details didn't stick, just the headline. Lol the ohio teen put up a nazi flag but his mom yelled at him to take it down. The gently caress is wrong with Ohio?

I’m at my parents house in south Nashville and just got an automated call from the county saying 911 switchboards are offline and in case of an emergency to call stations directly. This is very odd

It’s because that VBIED was parked in front of an AT&T data center. The gas and electricity has been cut off to the building so it’s running on reduced capacity with generators. Also someone please correct me or edit this out if it’s otherwise but I don’t think it would be too difficult to build a simple initiator over a bunch of TATP and rig a countdown with a bluetooth speaker and a prerecorded message.

Pretty sure the feds monitor significant purchases of precursor ingredients as well. Some dipshit jihadi wannabe was buying up tons of something, I think hydrogen peroxide or something, in Aurora Colorado, and was planning on attacking a bunch of targets including the NYC subway. https://www.denverpost.com/2019/05/03/aurora-terrorist-new-york-city-subway-bomb-plot/ This guy.

Yeah I feel like that’s been a thing ever since the Oklahoma City bombing and in that case they also changed a lot of commercial fertilizer so if I remember correctly they won’t function the same way. Probably had the effect of funneling people to fewer options, which from the law-enforcement perspective is actually pretty good, because it’s easier to track.

They often don't mind a body count either. I mean, I just don't see right wingers or Qnatics or anyone on that side of the fence putting a warning and countdown on a bomb. Just going to jump over the probability that this is sarcasm, but the cops showed up before the RV went up so it was presumably empty. e: Cops were on scene, bomb squad was en route. 2e: I'm assuming the RV was stolen, but if they wanted to hit the AT&T building, it means they would have had to rig the thing to transfer most of the force in that direction. That would take time right? SquirrelyPSU fucked around with this message at 22:23 on Dec 25, 2020 |
