It's generally hololive heavily isolating their sections. Nijisanji once upon a time had separated groups before just mashing everyone together. Kanae was originally part of the Gamer group, and there was another separated group called SEED. IND branch not long ago was also pretty isolated until Moona and Pekora decided to play together constantly. Holostars just doesn't interact with the main branch nearly as much as Niji does all the time with opposite genders.

The impression I got is that a lot of the Hololive girls are shy enough interacting outside of their own circle, but then you have Sora, Fubuki, Matsuri, and to a lesser extent Subaru collabing with the Holostars and beyond regularly. The stars kinda get a raw deal in that they can't interact as much with the more popular branch. I've also read that they are designed more like an idol experience for women viewers vs catering to typical male viewers. How true is that? Both those can really hold back their sub counts. honestly I've loved all the clips I've seen from them but I don't have the time to watch.

I'm pretty glad Holostars is kind of the last relatively "sectioned off" part of the broader Holo-umbrella. I was kind of fully expecting the English branch to get that sort of treatment at first and, somehow, forces conspired to prevent that from happening, and also moved Hololive Indonesia from the sideshow to the big tent so to speak. And as unfortuate as the HoloCN situation was its disappearance had the effect of just increasing Hololive's cohesion as a whole. It's interesting how much the way things seemed to have been organized just kind of completely changed by accident.
