Just finished the season 3 finale a couple minutes ago. I have a lot to think about, but I'd like to start with a question.

This one.

Whatever it is, Mark Frost isn't involved. Watching season 3, I can't imagine too much of that was Mark Frost's work.

Yeah if anything, Mark Frost’s impact was huge on season 3. All of the conspiracy/symbology stuff is extremely Frost, as is the political commentary.

Considering Twin Peaks regulars were cryptically tweeting about a secret last year, and Lynch and co were seen in the shooting locations, it's probably a new Peaks thing.

If I remember right, the deal was that Lynch and Frost discussed the overall story first. Then Lynch was allowed to do whatever he wanted while directing, and Frost did what he wanted with the two books.

Just found the only piece out there I could find where Lynch comments on Season 3, and its him lamenting that he should have made the tea kettle a straight spout so that people got that Jeffries was the smoky orb, lol

I just finished The Return and...I think I liked it? There's no closure, obviously, and I figured I wouldn't like where things were going after the Audrey episode and David Bowie being a tea kettle. But I'm really into the sublime way the show opens way up at the end to an uncertain setting that's just suggested rather than discussed explicitly--it would have been ruined if anyone had said "time travel" or "alternate timeline" or whatever. Also if there was any suggestion as to whether Cooper and Laura went into the future or the past at the end. I hope there are more episodes or another movie or something after all now.

I also had no idea we'd learn so much about Judy. It was a nice surprise.

What are you talking about? Good Cooper and friends destroyed Bad Cooper once and for all. Dougie returns to his family, the Mitchums become good, JJL and Tom Roth get theirs, and all the characters from the first two seasons who weren't involved in the main plot are trapped in a warped hellish nightmare. Seems pretty "wrapped up" if you ask me

Between TP and stuff like Cobra Kai it's really been a hell of a trip these last few years to see properties make such great use of the naturally-aged-up versions of the characters we grew up with.

As I get older myself and watch my own friends age it's been a very sobering and weirdly comforting phenomenon, to see that things keep going and keep kicking rear end

Does anyone know if the Complete Television Collection has the "between two worlds" feature where Lynch interviews Sarah Lee and Ray Wise in character? It's on the Z to A set, but I don't want to pay over retail and am not wild about a huge box full of plastic figures. This is the set I'm curious about :

This mention just made me watch it off my Entire Mystery set while I was eating and what a lovely little feature it was. I didn't really remember any of it and so I'm not completely sure if I even saw it before.

Anyways, since Between Two Worlds is on the Fire Walk With Me special features disc, it's probably not in the Television Collection.

Yeah, it's only in the Entire Mystery set and the From Z to A set. Even weirder, the Criterion edition of FWWM has the second part of Between Two Worlds, which is the interview with the actors, but it doesn't contain the first part when they're in character.
