Mr Boop has had its high peaks and its low valleys but at the very least it got me interested in the old Boop cartoons. Those have been pretty fun, aside from the general problems of all media from the 30s. I get why that man loves his wife so much.

The Dinette Set gets a big ol' OOF from me. Working Daze is lazy. Super-Fun-Pak Comix is filmed in front of a live studio audience. Cul De Sac is waiting for the heat to die down.

Modesty Blaise is really unique in how Modesty has multiple casual boyfriends across the globe and it's never portrayed as a bad thing. Her boyfriends understand that Modesty can choose to spend months with one of them and none of them get jealous about it or think bad of the others. Wait, "virtual" high five, as in these two were having a video conference online? I thought she was visiting her husband in prison, there's even an intercom right there.

Family Circus Rose is Rose One Big Happy Foob Compu-Toon Bizarro and I also post Foxtrot as well. Started in 1988 by Bill Amend. It ran daily until the end of 2006, when it turned to Sunday only. It's tech jokes + family slice of life, with better timing than Holbrook has ever managed. Amend actually understands technology.

Surgeon's Tales Nancy Dustin Cruel Little Stories is a Finnish Sunday comic from the late 90s. It presents us various small scenarios where humans cause inconvenience and distress to each other. Sometimes these stories are harmless and slightly humorous, while some are just cruel. I believe that the original intention was to make the people look around and see small instances of cruelty that are happening around them (maybe even by them).

Rhymes with Orange Get Fuzzy 1/2/01 Brenda Starr 4/8/45 Smokey Stover 3/14-15/39 Did I mention Holman is shameless about recycling gags? Richard's Poor Almanac Geek's Neck ended up in Cul de Sac as the Otterloops' summer vacation town. Lurid Caverns is a reference to Luray Caverns in Western Virginia, a popular day trip from DC. And Big Pile State Park is, of course, inspired by the former Great Stone Face in New Hampshire. Bonus Ad! I just love the image of a canary cop with a tiny badge, cap, and gunbelt ... and smoking a pipe too, because why not?
