The politics of bitcoin ruined the EFF for me forever. Hope your happy with yourself and the promethian fire hose you shoved in my brain and turned on.

Also: Are the (m)ETH heads setting up mining farms again? I listed my video card on ebay and it sold in under 20 minutes.

Reading reddit and forums they are at the "institutional money is here guys". If it gets to $40k we'll see "adoption as currency is imminent".

Poor butters. I'm reading about people finally able to afford mental health treatment b/c they are selling their butts. Only new paradigm coming our way is how the sec, fbi, and us attorneys prosecute stable coin schemes.

No, that's more like 500k USD / BTC territory. Be patient, we'll get there.

my favorite feature of buttcoin is how it's totally decentralized until it isn't, because the only way to make any revenue is to join one of the massive pools, and the more mining power a pool has the better it can pay, meaning more people will join the pool, so it's actually not really decentralized at all.

Concentrating unrestrained power in the hands of a few is a core feature of anything that lists "freedom" as a selling point. Divabot pilled me so hard....

Isnt most of the hash power in China?

Edit: was going to laugh about how the prc could just decide up and nationalize all this stuff, but I'm a dinosaur and they constitutionally recognized private ownership 13 years ago.

quote:

Who's fault will it be when soon the masses complain that only rich have bitcoin?

We know that institutional investors are buying and buying large into bitcoin lately. It has been well documented.

The 'little man' was the first in the space over the past decade. In fact, this is one of Peter Schiff's arguments against bitcoin. To paraphrase, no major asset was ever jump-started by the uninitiated. In his views, only the smartest and most edjamacated amongst the wheelers and dealers ever get in on the ground floor of "next big things". Bitcoin enabled kids ("stupid" kids of all things!) to buy in and get rich early.

Anyway, as the price rises, everyone has this instinctive feeling in their gut that this is "the top", or that bitcoin is "over bought". These feelings are, of course, based on nothing tangible. And everyone knows this deep down if they're seriously only engaging the rational portions of their brains. But that irrational part hits. That greedy part takes over. That "I can trade this into more bitcoin" part wins out.

And people sell.

And now, they are selling to the already rich.

And in just a year or two, the bemoaning will begin in earnest. Folks will complain about how only the 1% (or the .1%) own any significant amounts of bitcoin anymore. How the 'little man' got pushed out of the market. Capitalism will be blamed. Greed will be blamed. Everything else will be blamed.

But you know, don't you? You know deep down whose fault it is. Satoshi came up with a brilliant method for initial distribution of bitcoin to the masses: mining. And, for the first decade+, anyone could jump in and claim their stake. Sadly, that train is now leaving the station.

Never to return.

So the fault lies with us. All of us. All of us who sell not because we have to (to meet current financial obligations -- who could fault that choice?), but because we want to. We want to game the system. And we're gonna gently caress that system up doing so.

HODL. Not for your personal gain, but to keep this priceless resource out of the hands of those that already don't need it.

Bitcoin has helped me understand Minimalism
This is a random little TL;DR but..

I started investing in Bitcoin just before all the craziness started in late November. Immediately was hooked after reading more and more about the concept (I'm a bit of a tin foil hat kinda guy myself so the thought of anything Anti-Goverment is right up my alley) and now im absolutely hooked. I own a small amount of Bitcoin Currently and im aiming to be in the full coin club eventually!

My partner and I recently watched the new Netflix Documentary "The Minimalists - Less is Now" and they essentially challenge your way of thinking about the stuff in your house. Basically suggesting anything in the house that doesn't provide value to your life needs to go. We spent all NYE Weekend declutterring and basically stripping our house bare. We sold a whole bunch of stuff on Facebook and made a few grand from it. We sat around this pile of cash we had made like some scene from breaking bad and we made the decision to take what we needed for a nice dinner and deposit the rest into Bitcoin and im incredibly thankful we did that exercise.

I guess this is an appreciation post for Bitcoin & The documentary really. But since the clean up I've been able to really enjoy being in my own home again... I didn't even realise how bad my mental health was getting from coming home to a house full of stuff. Video Game Consoles, Books, Cooking appliances, Funko Pops, Clothes... its all gone. My spending habits are now changing too. My partner and I went from a list of stuff we wanted to buy to no list at all. We don't need it.

What remains of this exercise are the things most important to me. Good Heath, A Great Partner, A Buisness i love running, A house with everything I need and nothing more and last but not least.... A BTC Wallet stacked with SAT's

I've found my Moon in simplicity, Thank you Bitcoin.

I'm sure bitcoin has helped hapless tens of thousands discover minimalism themselves.
