I haven't painted 40k/Warhammer figurines since I was in middle school or early high school but I really should now, I feel like the PNW is some prime nerd country for this kind of thing.

Nah it's about 8” tall and the only 3d printed version I could find on the internet looks like a chinese knockoff that hasn't snapped off at the base at the time of photography. In any case I'm too paranoid about resin fumes and how to cure and dump waste to look into it seriously even if it is amazing for printing out bits and pieces of random stuff for cheap.

Well don't print it in one go, just break it into multiple pieces. Resin fumes are not a huge deal, wear a mask and gloves and do it in a well ventilated room. The waste that isn't cured you dump back into the bottle.

It’s a little shorter than that, but not by much. Honestly you can get almost anything GW makes from various Chinese recasters. The models are resin instead of plastic but the casts are very good. GW cracked down a while back and COVID really slowed down the market but it’s like small time drugs: once you know a guy you can get basically anything.

I play Guard and I'm glad I bought everything when I did (Mostly 6-8 years ago and at least 1/3 used) because gently caress everything's so goddamn expensive now.

Eh, I don't 3D print my models. I buy one cheap-rear end second hand one off of EBay, cast a two-part silicon mold then do A/B polyurethane pours and make as many copies as I want for myself. Also, Tyranids, because gently caress SPESS MUHREENS. Most boring-rear end army to play no matter what color you choose.

Competitive WH is much more of a shitshow than MTG because it doesn't actually have that much support from GW (until maybe the last 3 years) and tournaments are basically all independently run. Tournament organizers more or less set the rules on what's allowed to be put on the tables but no one has time to individually vet each model so as long as it's recognizable it's usually fine. Unless you're playing in a GW store in which case they definitely want you to be advertising their products for them.
