I like to read tarot cards for friends and at going away parties but I am a materialist, atheist, and professional scientist People they like to hear about themselves, I like to solve puzzles and improvise. It's a fun hobby but it's not political at all and I would regard with deep suspicion anyone who treats parlor games as a form of spirituality or Praxis

So, here I go. I’ve basically JUST came to the realization that I may be a witch. Let me start by saying I’m almost clueless on what the witchcraft world is, but I know just enough to know I’m most likely a witch. I’m just so confused on how to move forward. Like I’m even a male, so this is even weirder. I remember one talent I’ve had is being able to sense someone’s aura, and even their physical presence. Just two days ago, without seeing or hearing anything, I just knew my roommate was in our living room. Like my bedroom door always even closed, but I just knew he was up, and he was. I even looked online, hoping for some scientific explanation of something like “When someone is nearby, their body heat can be felt” or something like that. But no, I couldn’t find anything. Now this is even more insane. I think my power is mostly based in sensing the good/bad in someone. Which has helped me a lot in life. How do I move forward? I know I sound like such a newbie but I’m so confused and just don’t know how to move forward. Do I learn to control it? Do I suppress it? Where do I go from here? I guess this is just the day I decide not to hide from what I am anymore.

 I find a lot of new age bullshit to be really cringe and hilarious and entertaining. But I also think that some witchy/occult stuff is fine, as long as you don't sincerely start to believe that crystals have magical powers, or that you can actually predict the future. It can be a hobby just like anything else. Drawing tarot cards is more or less the same as playing blackjack while also contemplating your life. And sometimes that stuff is just cool and fun to read. I read medieval grimoires sometimes, a lot of them have a great literary and artistic aesthetic which I like to study, so that I can try to copy it and make it seem like the Book of C-SPAM was written in the dark ages. I'm currently drawing a giant demonic seal of trump. I don't think it has any dark occult powers, but it's still fun to draw, as a hobby And it can also be funny, check out these spells I found in a french 17th century book of lifehacks:    a lot of the spells require wolf organs, and while sad it's also darkly humorous to contemplate that this is one of the reasons wolves were hunted to extinction in western europe

A bug crawled out of my mouth?????? Am i cursed?? This morning I went to brush my teeth and there was bug/thing on my toothbrush that I didn't notice I guess so right as I started brushing my teeth the thing crawled/slid out the corner of mouth partly slidways and I screamed and swatted that poo poo away. This is concerning because 1 ew and 2 I didn't a huge protection thing and made like 5 different jars for the solstice and it was beautiful and I am sure that they worked. Could this have been and expel of negative energy? Like the protection spell had done it's job and I physically expelled the negative energy? Please be gentle, this experience was understandably traumatic. 😥

I read a book about alchemists once, it was full of entertaining stories and gave me some insight into history of the development of chemistry as a science, and it's funny to read how many world leaders were influenced by the advice of supposed sorcerers and how that shaped geopolitics medieval esoteric literature is neat

Tree Fairies, Sex, & Heartbreak I have a boyfriend who calls himself a hedge witch. He practices mostly chaos magic & has several "familiars." I recently found out he's been having sex with his "sexy tree fairy" spirit almost the whole time we've been dating (about 6 months). I only found out about it bc of something I found that he posted online. He said he didn't tell me about his sexual astral relations because he wouldn't ever admit it to anyone unless it was anonymously. He says he did a spell for her that made her free so no one could bind her. But she will be around forever, as his familiar. She also heals him, among other things, but according to him, since she will be around, he will have to be screwing her. He says he's in some kind of love with her & they have sex about every other day. (He's not interested in me anywhere near that often.) I was caught off-guard and then really, really upset for several days when I first found out about all of this. I've read on reddit about how nothing between two humans compares to what happens when one is intimate with a spirit. I can't be intimate with him without feelings of inadequacy & of being betrayed, visions of him with her. Now I'm frustrated because I don't know how to feel. This is unlike any situation I've ever been in. Is it rational to be jealous of someone's relations with a being from another dimension? He's broken-up with women for being unfaithful to him before, but that was with a human person. I'm really confused about where to go from here. I was wondering if, from anyone here's experience, they might have any insight or suggestions as to what I might do.
