The main change is that although you still get people who are buying their daily $60 pack of Benson and hedges (one guy buys them by the carton several times a week); most people now ask what the cheapest 20 pack is (currently Holiday at 27.50) and just buy that. I guess though the fact that people are buying a 20 pack when the same people would have been buying larger packs several years ago is promising. Also for the longest time the tax was applied oddly to pouches which made them much cheaper vs smoking tailors, then last year it seemed to change and they leaped up in price. I still smoke some darts but not many these days. $40 is a lot of money so it makes it easy to just walk away and buy a videogame or a steak dinner. Also on that front people I used to work with that smoked a pack of 30 a day have all dropped to less than 10 just on the price. For rational actors the system works but they're still insanely addictive which is going to own people forever. As someone that will relish a coffee and a ciggie I say just ban them who cares.

It sounds heartless (which is what the author of that article is going for), and she has every right to be sad because I’m sure she was excited and happy to be pregnant, but at 4 weeks it isn’t much more than a period, so writing that article to demonise the border closures is a huge stretch and pulling on heart strings that don’t need to be pulled on basically (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

The only thing people know is that during the end of the lockdown, I took my son to a park that was slightly further away than the 5km travel limit. Lol gently caress you all, CS is right. The last set of border restrictions (with respect to the land borders) have been incredibly poorly thought out and ramped up with little to no warning. There's a clear example of how poorly they've been applied to regions closer to Melbourne than the actual Sydney hotspots and you've all taken it as a fantastic opportunity to engage in a group game of well actually. Six months from now when most people have been vaccinated I'll agree that Andrews should probably have resigned for the quarantine hotel fiasco, but he's a massive asset to the entire country right now because we're still in an emergency and he's willing to run a lockdown as long as it takes.
