I have a bug where Mitch is stuck calling me on the phone, like, permanently. It pops up quickly enough that it's keeping me from interacting with things like fast travel. I did eventually manage to get in a car and drive out to where Mitch was standing and he finished his speech about Panam's exploits with cattle ranchers or something, but then it just gets stuck with a picture of Mitch on the screen with no dialog and I can't interact with any person or any thing. Anybody heard of a way to fix this that doesn't involve reverting back to an old save? Because I'm not really sure when the bug actually started

I'd like it if we got DLC that went a bit more into the Fixers beyond Rogue and Regina. Like I'm trying to figure out Dino's deal; dude's got Rockerboy written all over him and even plays in a band apparently, but a lot of his gigs have you pulling jobs for Corpos, which makes me think he's shaking a lot of their hands behind the scenes. Maybe you don't become the main Fixer of Downtown without making friends on all sides I guess?

While I really like weapons such as Comrade's hammer I find that the reload times limit their effectiveness. If you go loud and have to fight you often get surrounded quickly and have to fight 3-4 people at once who in the time it takes you to reload can make your life miserable. Eventually you level up high enough that you can 1 shot most enemies with an assault rifle shot to the chest and that becomes far more effective than these single shot + reload weapons. I'd rank my top 3 weapons in the following order 1. Moron Labe/Ajax with scope 2. Lizzie/Omaha Pistol - honorable mention to the Quasar 3. Overwatch or a Grad if I don't have overwatch yet I'd add an honorable mention to Johnny's Malorian pistol. I don't really see any reason why you'd want any other weapons here. The pistol could even be swapped for a melee weapon if people got too close and you're specced that way. Everything else seems like a gimmick to me. The smart weapons aren't as reliable as directly shooting heads yourself, revolvers are too slow and only suitable for silenced stealth kills, shotguns only work at point blank range and when you're higher level you can achieve similar results with the above weapons. SMGs drain shitloads of ammo, do minimal damage and are inaccurate compared to the fire control you get on an Ajax. The Copperhead works in a similar fashion and LMGs aren't flexible enough.

Thing is with the prototype Arasaka SMG every squeeze of the tigger is like 2-3 crits, which is like 33k worth of Short Circuit procs. And it tracks 3 targets at once. All you need to do is just point it in the direction of a group of people and they all instantly die. Edit: Really the main thing is, combat is just broken. No matter what you enjoy, it will kill everything almost instantly with almost no effort. All guns are amazing. All melee weapons are amazing. All implants are amazing. All quickhacks are amazing. The combat system was pretty much not done and then just shipped in a "well, it's not gonna be frustrating at least" state. toadee fucked around with this message at 18:10 on Jan 7, 2021 |

I think the fixers are one of the main things that hold the sidequests in this game back from being as good as they were in the Witcher 3. In W3, even the most basic witcher contracts were at least a fully self-contained story; you met a peasant or guard or whatever, they explained the contract and their stake in it, you went to do the thing, and then you reported back and resolved the story thread. In CP however, every gig is just the middle-person whose job it is to give you sidequests calling you on the phone, describing the sidequest on behalf of some invisible 3rd party who presumably actually cares about what you're doing, and sending you an email repeating what they just told you in the phone call. If you're very lucky, the gig might involve talking to someone actually affected by the problem that can give the gig a little more personality, but usually it's just a shard or something, at best. I guess maybe they were trying to make it so that having a fixer for each region gave the game more personality, but there are just a few too many fixers, each with just too little personality, to make that actually work. The strongest and most memorable quests in the game are the ones that don't really involve the fixers at all, where all the relevant characters are actually part of the action. Obviously the longer chains like the romances or the peralez's had more attention paid to them, but even shorter ones like the Brendan quest were more memorable imo.

But some stuff I didn't understand like you can end up being a musician, comedian, whatever and the last possibility for a rockerboy is "idoru," which what the gently caress even is that, I had to google it to figure it out. It's a jpop idol. I somehow expected it to be something super weird. You're gonna want the PDF of the book because finding the answers to some questions like how jump legs actually work is going to take searching, even in the cyberware section it doesn't just recap what merely having cyberlegs or eyes would do, beyond "your parts are cyber now" Turns out just having the legs lets you take insane vertical falls without damage, but otherwise don't seem to do much? Just having the arms seems to only give a boost to hand to brawling damage, but only if you have half or less Body than maximum, and if you have 5+ they don't do anything other than letting you dip your hands in an oven or whatever without getting hurt. Even then that's not really described as something you can do in the book, not sure where I got the idea that having them means you can do stuff like that. I don't even know that having a baseline cyber eye does anything at all beyond "it's the same thing but cyber. You lose humanity for having this." A major hidden benefit I think for having real cyberware and not just medical grade prosthesis is that you can use a cybertech check to treat or quick fix it instead of straight up surgery, which could be a life saver in some situations. I kinda feel like they expect you to also have dealt with 2020 and just kind of migrate some things over and the game turns out pretty upgraded from the old days?

they should have actually had it visually pop up when combat finished and print out how many casualties there were since the last time it popped up. Ofc it's glitched as gently caress and if you ko somebody and hide them in a car trunk that can count as killing them, or you could accidentally kill them ten million other ways, but it'd be cool. e: even better, have it quickly tag and untag all the bodies that are nearby and then say how many are dead SniperWoreConverse fucked around with this message at 19:05 on Jan 7, 2021 |

All these weapons left hanging mid-air are starting to get annoying. I don't expect perfection from video games, I'm just tired of seeing them. It's distracting. While I'm complaining, the menus suck, PC's weapons refusing to render mid-combat so I'm standing there getting shot to death like a dork while flipping through weapons and inventory trying to get something to render, there's too much loot you can't pick up because it's clipped partly into the ground or just otherwise buggy, the trail disappearing from the minimap (because it's not working right) and so on. On the purely cosmetic front, I gave my dude a facial tattoo and it barely shows up on him in game, there aren't enough tattoo choices anyway and there are no metallic tattoos, shiny and chrome, in the cyberfuture. I'd rather have have a metal tat than 20 choices for ears. Still having fun though.

The number of cool things that exist in this game that you aren't allowed to have is staggering. Like, I know it would be a ton of work, but the original plan was to have a spider-bot pet for the whole game, not just one machine, and you could be a hardcore techie. I guess they just folded all that gameplay into hacking and stealth as is because there's no reason for me to enter a building myself before everyone is asleep/puking/onfire/dead. Holo-cloaking mods, my own deployable aerial drones, the sweet facemask/riot shields, all the weird cyber mods...
