Mr. Boop really lost me at the beginning of Book 4 but I kind of came around after the whole "descent into obsession" thing. I've got mixed feelings about the ending and the whole project but it was something to check up on regularly in 2020.

They've been in use in the US since 1874. I'm not sure when they became common in office buildings, but I imagine it was sometime around the turn of the century.
