Most are so heavily embroidered or patterned that you would seriously stand out except at an Indian wedding or other event (which is where I wear them). The Nehru jacket/vest, though, can work most places.

Blame Croatia for that one, anyway. And yeah it's terrible. I do wish countries had kept their own clothes more. I respect the hell out of India for Indian clothing still being so common.

Korea and Japan are also anti facial hair. I don't get it either. I know a lot of East Asian dudes don't have much facial hair and can't grow beards that well, but the ones who can have the best facial hair of anybody in the world, imo.

At least in Japan its because beards were worn by samurai and were considered a symbol of rebellion and anti-social behavior, at least according to People On The Internet. Not that it stopped some important dudes, notably this fellow, who put even the Tsarist Russians he fought in 1904-1905 to shame in the facial hair department:

Nah. From wiki "Of the 220 film crew members, 91 (41.36% of the crew) developed cancer during their lifetime, while 46 (or 20.91%) died from it. When this was learned, many suspected that filming in Utah and surrounding locations, near nuclear test sites, was to blame.[7] However, any notion that a 'cancer epidemic' resulted from the filming is unjustified. In the United States, the average risk of a male developing cancer at some point in his life is 40.14%, and the risk dying from it is 21.24%.[8] In this film crew, 41.36% developed cancer, and 20.91% died from it."

For the amount of it they make, both locally and internationally, the CCP is so bad at propaganda. It was explained to me that this is because they don't want or need the propaganda to be convincing or realistic. They just want it to say "this is the narrative we are pushing" to show that any other narrative will be punished. But even so, surely you would want people to believe your story, rather than just be scared of contradicting it. Also, on this point. Imagine a CCP version of Fox News that was radicalizing its viewership to love/follow Xi the way that CHUDs love small handed Donnie.

If you want to see how CCP is trying to recycle old hay with Nancy Pelosi: https://chinamediaproject.org/2021/01/07/chinese-media-pounce-on-pelosi-buzzword/ quote:In remarks to a hearing at the Congressional Executive Commission on China (CECC) on June 4, 2019, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that it was “a beautiful sight to behold” to see people in Hong Kong speaking out through a candlelight vigil to commemorate the anniversary of the 1989 crackdown in Tiananmen Square. Her words were clearly not a reference to destructive behaviour by Hong Kong protesters, or to clashes between protestors and police. Reactions to the BS EU deal with China. It hasn't passed and can be killed but the fact it has been tentatively agreed to is an omni shambles of a blunder. Win-win my rear end. https://chinamediaproject.org/2021/01/06/on-eu-deal-the-word-is-win-win/ quote:The EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI), agreed on December 30, and characterized by the European Commission as “the most ambitious agreement that China has ever concluded with a third country,” has unleashed a wave of criticism in Europe.
