Discussion on Stonetoss a page or two ago made me realize that Tinsley is just Boomer Stonetoss. Today he's getting you primed up for a jokey culture war over bizarrely inoffensive turns of phrase, next week he'll celebrate MLK Jr Day by warning about "dangerous wild animals".

Charlz Guybon posted:Isn't he on a two week delay? Drunk Duck and Nothing Happens are both run with the other newspaper comics and are sent a couple of weeks in advance, yeah. This means we probably won't see either of them mention the failed coup for another week and a half or so. I say probably because if a big enough event happens sometimes newspaper cartoonists can rush a cartoon to be printed the next day, I feel like there were a few of them that did 9/11 tributes the day after. That said I don't expect Tinsley/Fishman or Stantis to put in the effort to do that.

So, probably Stallie will just ignore the whole event and go with an inauguration strip where they're afraid of what the future will bring. Tinsley will do a cultural war observation.

I have my expectations up that Nothing Happens will take some easy shots at Biden a lot more than it did with Trump. There will be unfinished stories instead of nothing is what I'm hoping. Well, hoping is not exactly the word...

I love how basically no man in history has done as much to spread white supremacy as Jack Dorsey and he is constantly denounced by white supremacists as a liberal boogeyman.

I think that's actually the most heartening thing. We like to get in beefs about leftist infighting, but it largely amounts to just posting angrily at one another. White supremacists have absolutely zero sense of solidarity; no one will be there to pick up Dorsey if he ever loses his twitter fortune, and a cop was beaten to death by people wearing Blue Lives Matter merch for the crime of telling them they were not allowed to do terrorism.

Uhh yeah. Washington committed treason against the British Empire and was undoubtedly denied access to things an otherwise upstanding general of the British Army would normally have access to. The difference is he had a pretty good idea of what would happen next
