I've never been a big Star Wars fan but a friend talked me into playing the TTRPG and I had a lot of fun with the setting. I'm more excited about Indiana Jones as problematic as it is. I've been playing the Tomb Raider games and I can't help but love them. There's something about the collection stuff in these adventure games that really entertains me, I should have been an anthropologist.

I still love how they named it films but it made no film tie in games, then named it arts because they decided that was the vision to not tie into Lucas properties, but then changed their mind and churned out tons of Star Wars

Disney used to have actual game studios under their umbrella but they killed them all off about a decade ago and just outsourced their IPs to other companies (like EA's Star Wars deal). I have a feeling that this pandemic may be allowing them to appreciate having a more diverse group of businesses.

They killed off their own studios after Disney Infinity failed. They were betting hard on that game. I remember reading some article in, I think Game Informer and someone at Disney said that video games was the one industry they were never able to succeed in.

Epic Mickey 1 sold good. Epic Mickey 2 which was on multiple systems did not. Disney Infinity also came out right at the end toys to life craze, but also suffered brutally from producing lots of figures of characters nobody wants and limiting figures to their IP properties so you couldn't use your favorites to do everything

Surprised that Disney didn't just do a Marvel/LucasFilm and bought out a reputable publisher with a good track record. Unless they had that in their strategic plans and then looked at the books and realized how much of a hellhole it would be.
