I've been playing Until You Fall and Blade & Sorcery with a weightvest and wrist weights. Pretty good workout and the closest thing to a sword fight I've ever felt in a game.

Until You Fall is awesome. One of my favorite VR games. It's great to have a game you can just jump into for a quick run.

The melee combat is just fantastic and the difference between weapons like how heavy weapons hit hard but have a weight to them so it's harder to block is so well thought out. I think that developer also made I expect you to Die which is good too.

I literally just played Until You Fall for the first time and went about 3 more runs after saying one more run. Also the rune knights can go gently caress themselves.

The Star Wars Squadrons game is so hard. I'm stuck on Terisa's Vengeance because there's no self-repair loadout for my tie bomber and the turrets respawn every time I retreat to the Overseer for repairs.

There was 1 mission I just set it to easy for a mission because I just kept getting dunked on, might have been that one. The difficulty seems to swing all over the place in that game.

Okay Walkabout Mini Golf is legit cool as hell. The physics feel spot on and you really have to keep your shoulder straight it feels like. It’s really crappy the online functionality is limited to 1v1 with randos. You can have a 5 team setup but its private party only.

The rando dude i played with the other night mentioned there’s another golf game that has a driving range. Anyone know which one that is?

Something that surprised me with Walkabout is that they didn't go full crazy with moving parts, ramps and all that,a possibility given this is a minigolf video game.

I was playing Walkabout with my friend last night in the Cherry Blossom level and we both stopped to look around with the birds chirping and stuff and both said "Man this is actually really relaxing" at the same time. I still wish we could throw our club though. Reeeeeally wanna heave a golf club into the ocean after loving up a putt.

The first thing the rando and I did was try to throw our clubs at each other lol. Yeah the levels are a bit static, although they are fun. I haven’t tried them all yet, wondering if I should refund and try the TopGolf thing.

My thing with TopGolf is I imagine it'll be a lot harder to emulate the feel of swinging a driver without actually having a club in your hands than it is to approximate hitting a ball with a putter in real life. Sort of how I think Eleven is a perfect game because pingpong is already scaled down and the controller roughly feels like a paddle whereas a Tennis game would be a lot harder to make feel 'authentic' due to not being able to cover an entire tennis court in your home and the racket not feeling the same way.

That was my exact first thought as well after watching the trailer. I was thinking it might be worth it just for the putt putt stuff if you can have open parties larger than 1v1, but i dont know how the physics hold up in that mode since that seems to be more of an add-on than the main event.

Here's a review:
https://www.worldofgeekstuff.com/topgolf-vr-with-pro-putt-review/

But TopGolf is just a couple putting greens + driving range. Not really the same as mini-golf. I think they're fundamentally different but if you want to get your swing going topgolf is probably pretty decent too.

Why Beat Saber has several 'mutators' but not one that increases the HP bar by 50% or 100%. It would be ideal to play these 'slightly too hard' songs for me, without having to go to the extreme of using the 'no fail' mutator.

Thanks, that makes sense. I do like how they created a clubhouse to hang out in and chill. I dunno, this feels like it should be something already baked into Rec Room or something. But having a dedicated game probably keeps the 7 yr olds from jumping in, too.

I like Top Golf - you can just hang out at the driving range and use the in-game Youtube plugin to blast some balls and listen to some tunes or a podcast. I actually refunded Eleven Table Tennis because of the lack of this kind of functionality.

I can somehow understand it for a chill game of golf, but.. how are you supposed to play table tennis and watch youtube at the same time?

There's a TV in the game!! Let me look over at it every once in a while or at least let me listen to something other than the same 4 royalty-free songs over and over again.

I used OVR to put a youtube window beside my opponent in Eleven and I'm like 95% focused on the table tennis game happening and glancing at youtube every now and then. It's not that hard to listen while playing and just hold your serve if you want to watch whatever is happening on the screen at the time. It also helps when you watch hour long LP's or whatever that doesn't require you to be looking directly at it all the time.

Blade and Sorcery is still a little barebones, but it's a single person labor of love deal, so taking that into account, it's pretty solid. Weapons have a good amount of weight to them and it feels good to fight off a bunch of dead-eyed creeps in endless mode, but it's still got a ways to go before it really comes into its own. Definitely a great workout, though!

I got my VR Optician lens adapters for my Index today and it really is just a night and day difference, even from using my actual prescription glasses with it. I had been playing Skyrim VR without my glasses on just for comfort's sake and even though stuff was a little blurry, I got by, but now actually being able to see all the pretty poo poo I modded into the game has improved that even more.

I'd say that's about how long I waited. I put my order in on the second and just got them today. Once it got past awaiting lenses, they had them put together, shipped out and at my door from Germany in, like, three days.

Ive asked a couple of times since I bought it 6 months ago without any luck, but I figure it’s worth checking again. I’ve never been able to get Doom VFR to launch at all and it really sucks. Just crashes immediately and tried reinstalling it a couple of times and nothing. Anyone else run into this? I’d like to play it some day.

there was a short time where steamvr didn't support motion reprojection on amd cards, but that's like... 3? years ago. also there was an issue with HTC's wireless solution on certain amd chipsets when they launched it, but that, too, got patched by HTC in fairly short order.

other than that, i don't remember ever seeing people complaining?
