cumtown, frotcast whenever they get to making an episode, pod yourself a gun their sopranos podcast, trueanon, trillbillies, fun report, various nba podcasts when they touch on what i want to hear about cumtown has been real solid lately, stavvy has been on fire for a while now. maybe spending a weekend together in the woods did the boys some good. i even started stavs basketball pod and i cannot stand the cohost. just listen for stavs nba expertise

Finkelstein's depiction of his childhood reminds me a lot of the Jewish side of my family. The high school he went to sounds a lot like Brookline High was around the same era (my mom and aunt went there and apparently the neighborhood was lower-middle class back then, though now it's very yuppie and expensive), and my mom/aunt/grandma were also sort of distant from the rest of the Jew community in the area. Though in her case it wasn't due to her parents being European Holocaust survivors, but because sexism meant my grandmother didn't go to college (while her brothers both went to Harvard/MIT and their branches of the family are more "stereotypically American Jewish" as a result). That side of the family came over from Eastern Europe in the early 20th century, so a generation before people like Finkelstein's parents. Just extremely similar vibes (not just in terms of content, but also "the way he talks about it") to everything I hear my mom say about when she was young (she's 72 so a little older than Finkelstein).

I've been listening a lot to Desert Oracle Radio recently. The host was a guest on Trillbillys a couple of times which is where I learned about it. It's a great not-directly political podcast/radio show where the host talks about cool poo poo in the Mojave desert. Lots of historical stories, UFO sightings, ecology, and local economics/politics. Super chilled out atmosphere, great for listening to right before bed.

so I started revolutions w the French Revolution and made it all the way to the latest on the Russian Revolution, and I really don’t care about the English or American revolutions. does anyone put out similar content to him, but ideally centered on Asia or Africa? revolutions is good but feels eurocentric and I wanna branch out a bit.
