I should mention that Revelations is actually one of the better Hellraisers. The story goes places, the other Cenobites look pretty good and it ties the story up with the first movie. Laughing your arse off any time PH shows up is just a bonus. Good movie.

It was envisioned as sort of an "American James Bond" type, but Selleck refused to do the role unless he could do it his own way. So Magnum is a sorta lame blue collar beach bum who regularly gets clowned on and has to constantly trick or cajole his buddies into helping him on cases because he never pays them back properly, but he's also a former SEAL counterintelligence expert so he's extremely good at the detective and fighting part of his job.
