There's little as funny as people acting like its the late 90s as regards stuff people on the internet like. Like they heard someone talk about how WCW on its downward trajectory was doing stuff to pop the smarks and internalized it. Obviously nothing has changed in the last 20 years

Youtube views are what really matter! Ignore that WWE's youtube revenue in 2019 was estimated at 20 million, which is 5% of the yearly revenue of their US TV deals.

I continue to be appalled by just how hard people have to defend this company as if they’re paying all their bills and providing love to them.

And to think people get death threats for besmirching the good name of the WWE.

I would think, if I didn’t know any better, that Meltzer and Alvarez were axe murderers or something.

Life lesson: Never talk bad about WWE or ELSE.

I remember an early Steve Austin podcast with Johnston where Austin asks "How do you write all those songs?" & Johnston replies "Umm... well, I don't know how to write music, I just play the songs by ear..." :eng99:

The moral of the story is Jimmy Hart good, Jim Johnston bad.

What? Jim Johnston wrote and composed the majority of his songs alone playing all the instruments. You may be confusing being able to write sheet music with being able to write music. Many of the greatest song writers of all time couldn't read/write sheet music.

Yeah. A couple of folks on my TIL see the clip and were like 'what's wrong with Nia Jax again?' and the answer is 'aside from being very unsafe she's at least falling QAnon "talking points" so... do I need to go on?'

Do you want to push the envelope? Let the internet wrestling community’s favorite person Velveteen be the last man standing. Imagine the boos that would ring out if there was an actual crowd to match the outrage online. Dream has been a bit of a bridesmaid at best and doormat at worst in NXT lately. At his best, he was a self-absorbed rear end who wouldn’t let a chance go by without telling you that you’re beneath him. Position Dream as number one contender, and he instantly regains that edge that made him a unique Prince, Goldust, Hollywood Racist hybrid. Want to really push things? Let him steal the Rumble from Daniel Bryan.

The war is still real. You besmirch the good name of WWE and you’re gonna get hosed on by the mob.

Do the same to AEW, and they’ll push back, but much gentler in response. It kinda feels political in a way, which is sad, but that’s how it is.

Insanely toxic fan base.

The 'how can you run down Jax but not joshi!?' sure is ramping up. I've been watching a lot of TJPW and Stardom recently and some stuff is stiff like it is anywhere, and sometimes somebody makes a mistake especially in TJPW where they're all younger workers, but I don't recall anything like this and if it's out there, by all means let me know.

From what I can tell, Nia Jax is trying to powerbomb Dana Brooke but it looks like they don't manage to quite get the positioning or timing right (it's hard to tell who's at fault there) and they switch over to what looks like a chokeslam. When Jax tries a one-handed lift, it looks like she starts to lose her grip and pretty much drops Dana Brooke hard onto the mat. It looks like the point of impact is around the neck/back of head area.

Apparently Dana Brooke was OK, but yeah, it's pretty loving scary.

To be fair to them, they didn't just repeat the spot and I guess they tried to adapt it but yeah, it was very ugly.

IMO it looks like what's happening as the "slam" part of the chokeslam is happening.
