found a magic site:

+1n, nice

anyway what's going on in the world

looks like ubar is rolling up tc, and took their throne back from the now-ai ulm.

and seems like lanka's moved out a battlegroup, probably to retake his capital.

not the world's most impressive army, but it's sacred and it's blessed. best of luck to him.

anyway how are things are the home front

we captured ulm's fort, looks like. minimal casualties i see but

uh

hmmm

what's that

oh no

knocked down to 1 hp on the first round of the battle, before he could even get divine blessed, huh

he dies.

we probably should have put a shirt on him.

oh well.

meanwhile ai ulm is moving a big stack of trash around. at us? who knows, we'll see.

we're pulling the flying brick out of retirement for one more one last job. switching his equipment for this one.

i never fixed his chest wound but he's got his ring of regen, he'll be blessed, and he's got 263 hp. how bad could it be?

random event:

random event #2:

random event #3:

luck $cale$ vindicated once again.

here's the mage we got:

he's fine. he'll probably research forever.

we're four turns away from ench7.

nerds don't fail us now.

some fishy mercs are looking for work. we give them a bid.

meanwhile:

our throne lab is finally online. let's take a look at what we've won.

these guys are alright. they're like yogis, magic-wise, but more expensive and better at researching.

these guys are the guys you came to see. loremasters have 3 randoms, from any magic path, meaning they spawn with 3 totally random levels of magic. they're often stupendous, especially in long games when you can make a lot of them and roll the magic slot machine a lot. they're 4 rec points apiece so they're hard to mass though. but we'll make as many as we can.

that's the turn. we're sitesearching and moving to fight ai ulm.

diplomacy corner:

talking to tien chi:
5:11 PM] filthincarnate: how's the war going
[5:11 PM] beardbeard: i am out of the game as i foolishly antagonized the ermorian war machine
[5:11 PM] beardbeard: who promptly sent assassins at me
[5:11 PM] filthincarnate: oof
[5:11 PM] filthincarnate: they have assassins???
[5:11 PM] filthincarnate: crazy
[5:12 PM] beardbeard: yes
[5:12 PM] filthincarnate: wait so
[5:12 PM] filthincarnate: are you ai?
[5:12 PM] beardbeard: yes
[5:12 PM] filthincarnate: WHOA
[5:12 PM] filthincarnate: i thought tc was overpowered
[5:12 PM] filthincarnate: makes u think
[5:12 PM] beardbeard: make no mistake, the demons do good work
[5:12 PM] beardbeard: but when your mages dont want to use the gems given to them to summon elementals, what can you do
[5:12 PM] filthincarnate: mmm i don't suppose your monkey friends/allies would
[5:13 PM] filthincarnate: be able to borrow a few gems
[5:13 PM] beardbeard: i am an honorable gamer and do not send gems and gold out on defeat
[5:13 PM] filthincarnate: ;_;
[5:13 PM] beardbeard: unless it would be really funny
[5:13 PM] filthincarnate: how funny would it be if a markata had some gems
[5:13 PM] filthincarnate: :gem: :monkey: look at that
[5:13 PM] beardbeard: that is pretty funny
[5:13 PM] filthincarnate: what's he gonna do with that?
[5:13 PM] filthincarnate: crazy.....you could make this happen.....
[5:14 PM] beardbeard: you know what. youre right.
[5:14 PM] beardbeard: lanka will get my gems
[5:14 PM] filthincarnate: brutal
[5:14 PM] filthincarnate: but i'm okay with it tbqh
[5:14 PM] filthincarnate: he's fighting yomi rn
[5:14 PM] filthincarnate: and he also borders ermor
[5:14 PM] filthincarnate: so he could use all the help he can get

Spewing insults, pissing off all your neighbors, betraying your allies, backing out of treaties and accords, and generally screwing over the global environment?
ALL PART OF MY BRILLIANT STRATEGY!

Donkringel posted:

At this point I'm still weighing my options. After taking a few TC forts on the border, I wait until he's gone AI and then start sprinting for his cap, trying to reach it before Ermor does.

I believe that around this time, various nations have also started trying to paint Ermor as a big threat that I should absolutely be excited to get into a fight with, with rumblings of a coalition occurring. And while I do love a big dogpile, everyone being busy fighting an existential threat is also a great time to attack them.

My main excuse for dithering is "oh noooooo, Agartha's got such great big stacks hanging around my border, oh nooooo," even though everyone keeps telling me he's a newbie who's badly bungled his game so far and no real threat, mostly because I want to make sure everyone else has taken the risks before I chip in.

Turn 34, or: "The Scam 2: The Gentleman's Ménage à Trois"

mmkay some stuff going on here.

Tien Chi went ai, as we saw, and gave all their gems to lanka. i would've preferred we'd gotten them but this is fine; providing aid to a proxy army to prolong a hellwar that's keeping at least three other players occupied is an acceptable use of those gems.

pan cast the game's first global enchantment. we are currently working towards one ourselves but can't cast it yet.

mother oak, or "moak", for short, is good. it usually goes up way earlier in a game than turn 34, because it's only at like enchantment 5 and has very accessible path requirements/gem costs. pan's research must be anemic.

(also you usually want to get gem generating globals (or "gemgens") up as early in the game as possible, because they take a while to pay for themselves and the longer they're up the better the return on your investment)

we found a magic site in the fort we took from ulm who took it from ermor. pretty good.

anyway:

our mercs took ulm's prov and ulm's stack of trash attacked our fort, as we thought it might.

fortunately this is not ai ulm's entire stack of trash, merely a small garbage pile. we'll move to clean it up.

ubar moves to roll up the now-ai tien chi.

but what's this?

a bump?

interesting! let's take a look.

ubar's army, the by-now-familiar camels.

abysia's small squad. everyone welcome fan favorite purplexvi, to the let's play.

these guys loving slaughter falcons, instantly.

the cap-only sacred. notice that this one is starving.

the gigantic cap-only mage. these guys are like 500 gold apiece.

that's quite a bless. at the very least it's funny.

one of abysia's turbo-expensive mages, clad only in a bathrobe, is pincushioned to death by ubar's arrows, but the heavily-armored sacreds wade through.

liquid flames of rhuax is an abysia-only spell. here you see it in action, killing like five camels with a single cast.

more burning camels

the burning ones take casualties but once they reach the camels they start motoring through.

the camels start to break

ubar's prophet doesn't have a camel. run prophet! run!!!

he makes it, but only just.

random events:

generous tribesmen this turn.

here's the new item we got:

it's useful for mind games and nothing else. we probably won't be using it.

anyway we sent the flying brick on a mission last turn. let's take a look.

here he is uw, where he gets reduced stats, due to not being used to fighting down there

see

our enemies are these guys, who are absolute murderers vs unarmored/lightly armored troops. when they go berserk? forget it.

and this guy? a beast. talk about elite cavalry.

battle is joined

and the flying brick straight-up murders both shark and rider in a single blow. boom.

dorks with knives can't stand against the flying brick.

he's still got it.

gently caress yoU!1!!!!!!

anyway where were we.

that's the turn. ermor is getting huge but i have a plan for that. it involves getting to ench7 so.

agartha has decided to dump an entirely different flavor of gems into trolls (water gems, this time). trolls are an usual summon in that, unlike most summons, they demand upkeep in gold (flavorwise i believe they eat it), so mass-summoning them is an easy way to ruin your economy, especially if they're just sitting around.

lanka's current territory. he's looking embattled.

but it looks like yomi's lost his eastern flank to sauromatia. our information is spotty but we'll send in some scouts.

abysia and ubar engage in some public post-bump diplomacy; i sneak a screenshot.

and marv is meanwhile plagued by pan's stealthy raiding parties. looks like a whole lot of mutually destructive hellwars; nobody's really doing anything smart or ambitious except for ermor.

let's see if we can do something about that.

talking to lanka:
[10:23 PM] filthincarnate: boom
[10:23 PM] filthincarnate: tc went ai and i convinced him to give you his stuff
[10:24 PM] filthincarnate: admittedly by accident, i was trying to convince him to give me his stuff and he gave it to the "other monkeys"
[10:24 PM] filthincarnate: anyway if he had earth gems in that stash i'll gladly trade for them, and/or sell you some more equipment. lmk
[2:49 AM] Tekk: Haha he certainly sent me a lot of stuff
[2:50 AM] Tekk: Will take a proper look this evening
[2:50 AM] Tekk: Ill bequeath it to you in the event of my demise anyway
[2:50 AM] Tekk: But it will definitely help me to do some more damage
[12:44 PM] filthincarnate: oh ya
[12:45 PM] filthincarnate: but if you've got extra earth gems now lemme know because i can use that poo poo like rn
[12:45 PM] Tekk: He didnt send me many
[12:46 PM] Tekk: and im thinking of empowering the God to E1 anyway which would require me alchemising
[12:46 PM] Tekk: Can you make the girdle to reinvig?
[12:47 PM] filthincarnate: what girdle
[12:47 PM] filthincarnate: girdle of might?
[12:47 PM] filthincarnate: lemme check
[12:47 PM] Tekk: thats the one
[12:48 PM] filthincarnate: ya i can do that
[12:48 PM] filthincarnate: i'll make one this turn, trade you 10e for it
[12:54 PM] Tekk: Happy to pay
[12:55 PM] Tekk: Can you also make a copper arm
[12:55 PM] Tekk: ?
[12:55 PM] Tekk: Thinking of "arming" the bull with a vine shield
[1:12 PM] filthincarnate: i'm not const6 yet alas
[1:12 PM] filthincarnate: i have a research target i need to hit in a couple turns
[1:12 PM] filthincarnate: like 3 or so, i can head up const after that if you're still interested
[1:12 PM] filthincarnate: i also have a ring of regen i could send you
[1:12 PM] filthincarnate: if you like
[1:13 PM] filthincarnate: i.e. i could make one
[1:13 PM] filthincarnate: ring of regen stacks with bless and spell so
[1:13 PM] Tekk: yes i know
[1:13 PM] Tekk: Lemme check but I think I can make that
[1:13 PM] filthincarnate: :wow:

talking to abysia:
5:51 PM] filthincarnate: yo purple
[5:51 PM] PurpleXVI: yo turtle
[5:51 PM] filthincarnate: how close are you to const6
[5:51 PM] filthincarnate: as abysia
[5:51 PM] PurpleXVI: Which game.
[5:51 PM] filthincarnate: joule
[5:51 PM] PurpleXVI: Oh Joule.
[5:51 PM] PurpleXVI: Lemme chizzeck.
[5:51 PM] filthincarnate: i assumed you'd make a direct line for it
[5:52 PM] filthincarnate: also that was a really funny bump
[5:52 PM] filthincarnate: w/ ubar
[5:52 PM] PurpleXVI: Hahahah, it was.
[5:52 PM] PurpleXVI: If nothing upsets my research I'll have it in 2-3 turns.
[5:52 PM] PurpleXVI: Also I wanted evo 5 first.
[5:52 PM] PurpleXVI: For those flames of rhuax.
[5:52 PM] filthincarnate: for obv reasons ya
[5:52 PM] filthincarnate:
If nothing upsets my research I'll have it in 2-3 turns.
well i'm interested in buying lanterns in bulk
[5:53 PM] filthincarnate: i could empower a guy and make them myself but i figured this would be cheaper
[5:53 PM] filthincarnate: plus it would help my friend purple
[5:53 PM] filthincarnate: i also have a war i wanted to propose to you but that's another story
[5:53 PM] filthincarnate: did you hear tc went ai
[5:53 PM] PurpleXVI: I did.
[5:53 PM] PurpleXVI: I think I was part of it.
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: i'm sure you were
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: are you gonna beat ermor to the cap
[5:54 PM] PurpleXVI: Probably not, I hit a couple of low supply provinces on the way and pretty much the entire attack team is diseased.
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: okay so
[5:54 PM] PurpleXVI: So I'll likely need a bit to recover.
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: that means ermor is gonna get
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: 2 caps
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: pretty quick
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: ulm and tc
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: i am concerned about this
[5:54 PM] PurpleXVI: Sounds to me like a couple of virtuous nations would attempt to dunk on Ermor.
[5:54 PM] filthincarnate: yes
[5:55 PM] filthincarnate: perhaps me and you and ubar
[5:55 PM] filthincarnate: especially since the two of you are completely fireproof
[5:55 PM] filthincarnate: and his big trick is fire eles
[5:55 PM] PurpleXVI: Also yeah I'm down for crafting a shitload of lanterns. I just wish I had some dwarven hammers to cut the cost, realbaddumb has spoiled me.
[5:55 PM] filthincarnate: well guess what i can forge bitch
[5:55 PM] PurpleXVI: Daaaaang.
[5:55 PM] PurpleXVI: Well it sounds like a match made in heaven.
[5:55 PM] PurpleXVI: How many lightless lanterns per hammer?
[5:55 PM] filthincarnate: huh!
[5:56 PM] filthincarnate: that's....not really the trade i was aiming for?
[5:56 PM] filthincarnate: earth gems are at a premium for me
[5:56 PM] PurpleXVI: Hm.
[5:56 PM] filthincarnate: i was hoping to unload my fire on you
[5:56 PM] filthincarnate:
earth gems are at a premium for me
potentially i can be flexible here
[5:56 PM] PurpleXVI: hahah, hang on I forgot my PG has E4.
[5:57 PM] PurpleXVI: False alarm.
[5:57 PM] filthincarnate: how many hammers are you looking for
[5:57 PM] filthincarnate: :wow:
[5:57 PM] filthincarnate: well in that case
[5:57 PM] filthincarnate: what were you thinking per lantern
[5:59 PM] PurpleXVI: Well, I need to get some sleep so, ping me tomorrow and I'll make a decision.
[5:59 PM] filthincarnate: nonurgent
[5:59 PM] filthincarnate: pleasure doing business
[5:59 PM] filthincarnate: sleep well friend
[6:02 PM] PurpleXVI: Thanks, Turtle, I look forward to the many comical ways in which we shall dunk on other players.
[6:03 PM] filthincarnate:

****note: i like purple.*****

talking to ubar:
6:05 PM] filthincarnate: comrade ubar
[6:06 PM] filthincarnate: hit me up when you get online, i've got a proposal for you
[6:57 PM] YNRN: I'm here, whatcha got
[7:19 PM] filthincarnate: mmkay
[7:19 PM] filthincarnate: so, question:
[7:20 PM] filthincarnate: from where i'm sitting it looks like you've been boxed out of the race for ai tc, right
[7:20 PM] filthincarnate: and abysia says he's not gonna beat ermor to the cap
[7:20 PM] filthincarnate: and ermor is also sieging down ai ulm atm
[7:20 PM] filthincarnate: so that means we're looking down the barrel of a 3-cap ermor
[7:21 PM] filthincarnate: "we" being you, me, and abysia rn, since we're his main neighbors.
[7:22 PM] filthincarnate: anyway i figure we unionize and take him apart, each of us getting a cap for our trouble, or we sit around and wait for him to kill us one by one
[7:22 PM] filthincarnate: i've already spoken to abysia and he says he's in
[7:23 PM] filthincarnate: so basically i'm proposing we go 3-on-1 vs ermor
[7:24 PM] filthincarnate: we're all substantially smaller than ermor is but the good news is that ea ermor's big trick is "fire elementals", which you and abysia are both totally immune to
[7:24 PM] filthincarnate: and i'm currently researching a counter for it
[7:25 PM] filthincarnate: anyway lmk, we're not going right away obviously but we probably oughtn't to wait too long after ermor finishes ai tc/ai ulm
[7:26 PM] filthincarnate: because left unchecked they're just gonna tech up and murder the world
[7:26 PM] filthincarnate: starting with idk probably me but who knows
[7:29 PM] filthincarnate: ofc if i'm wrong and you can beat ermor to the cap that changes all the calculus and i'll be feeling much more chill about the whole situation
[7:29 PM] filthincarnate: since there will be Rival Powers, to Fake Rome
[7:30 PM] YNRN: I can't reach tc without going through ermor now anyway you're right
[7:30 PM] filthincarnate: ya that's what i figured
[7:31 PM] YNRN: I would probably be amenable to this though that one province north of those two forts is my only access to ermor so I wouldn't advance that way if I were you and you wanted me to help
[7:32 PM] filthincarnate: yeah that's fine
[7:32 PM] filthincarnate: i also would suggest that you take some of my provs
[7:32 PM] filthincarnate: south of you
[7:32 PM] filthincarnate: to get to ermor that way
[7:32 PM] filthincarnate: because they're so big they wrap around the whole world
[7:33 PM] YNRN: Which ones do you suggest in particular (I was also thinking of cutting through lanka since they're probably basically dead to yomi now)
[7:33 PM] filthincarnate: yomi, hilariously, got his god murdered
[7:33 PM] filthincarnate: so his bless is now offiline
[7:33 PM] YNRN: Rippo
[7:33 PM] filthincarnate: and lanka got his god back
[7:33 PM] filthincarnate: so his bless now works again
[7:33 PM] filthincarnate: so it promises to be a costly war for all involved
[7:34 PM] filthincarnate: well i thought that 12 would connect to 247 but it doesn't look oike it does actually
[7:35 PM] filthincarnate: but y'know what i could give you back your fort in 21 as a show of good faith
[7:35 PM] filthincarnate: from there you could go south into ermor
[7:36 PM] filthincarnate: alternatively you could go via lanka's fort in 242
[7:36 PM] filthincarnate: or when the war starts you could use stealthy raiders coming from the north and we figure out how to link everything up after the dust settles
[7:36 PM] filthincarnate: if you don't want to siege down a border fort beforehand
[7:37 PM] YNRN: If there's one thing I have it's stealthy raiders
[7:37 PM] YNRN: That said getting a fort would be nice
[7:37 PM] filthincarnate: ya we can figure it out, all of this is like at least several turns out
[7:38 PM] filthincarnate: but if you want to start the process of taking back 21 as a show of good faith etc we can do that soon if you like
[7:39 PM] YNRN: I can send some guys into it starting now if that's alright
[7:39 PM] YNRN: They won't be there until 2 turns from now though
[7:40 PM] filthincarnate: ya just let me know the turn you're gonna attack so i can walk my mages away
[7:40 PM] filthincarnate: that'll give you two avenues of attack into ermor, i figure abysia will go in via Former TC, and i have a long skinny border with him, as i am a long skinny nation, so i have no shortage of ways in
[7:41 PM] filthincarnate: pleasure doing business friend
[7:41 PM] YNRN: Yep no problem

talking to abysia, resumed:
7:42 PM] filthincarnate: update:
[7:42 PM] filthincarnate: ubar's in
[7:42 PM] filthincarnate: because ermor is Huge ubar borders them both to their northwest and southeast
[7:43 PM] filthincarnate: so they'll go in from both sides
[7:43 PM] filthincarnate: i figure you'll go in via Former TC
[7:43 PM] filthincarnate: and i'll come in from the west
[7:43 PM] filthincarnate: we meet in the middle and each get a cap out of the deal
[7:43 PM] filthincarnate: sound fair?
[7:56 PM] filthincarnate: this would all not be for a little while ofc
[7:56 PM] filthincarnate: plenty of time to build up your forces
[11:31 PM] PurpleXVI: Sounds downright reasonable.
[11:31 PM] PurpleXVI: How many lightless lanterns were you thinking in total, btw?
[11:41 PM] filthincarnate: uhhhhhhh
[11:41 PM] filthincarnate: many
[11:42 PM] filthincarnate: at least 20
[11:42 PM] filthincarnate: i have a pile of f and nothing else to do with it
[11:46 PM] PurpleXVI: Hmmm. Well dwarven hammers would be a discount of... 2 per. So that would be 60 fire gems to craft, down from a normal price of 100, unless I'm too just-awake-groggy to maths right. Say a bulk discount and I'll hammer them out for 70?
[11:46 PM] filthincarnate: agreed.
[11:47 PM] filthincarnate: do you want the fire gems lump sum or in installments
[11:47 PM] filthincarnate: ofc you have to get const6 and then there will be forging turnaround time
[11:48 PM] PurpleXVI: Well, I'd say hold off for a couple of turns in general. I still need to hit const 6 and bring out the hammers. I generally don't like being paid for a service I'm not ready to provide yet.
[11:48 PM] filthincarnate: a respectable business practice.
[11:48 PM] filthincarnate: let me know when you're ready to proceed
[11:48 PM] filthincarnate: as for the ermorwar i'll keep you posted, we're probably looking 6+ turns out
[11:49 PM] filthincarnate: i'd take that time to go as hard on troop production as you can
[11:49 PM] filthincarnate: but you can ofc do as you think best
11:55 PM] PurpleXVI: I've been pretty much producing my capacity for a while, I'm just sad that the fight with TC ate up most of my sacreds thanks to disease and, goddammit, that halved-pop event on my cap reduced my ability to produce them.
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: that's a huge bummer yeah.
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: how'd you get them diseased
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: oh wait
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: oh poo poo
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: dude
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: i uh
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: i have a disease cure item
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: got it in a random event
[11:56 PM] filthincarnate: are your guys dead dead or just dying
[11:57 PM] PurpleXVI: Slowly melting.
[11:57 PM] filthincarnate: you can probably save a significant amount with my whatsit
[11:57 PM] PurpleXVI: That would be greatly appreciated if you can spare it. I will, of course, be sending it back as soon as its done its job.
[11:57 PM] filthincarnate: miraculous cure-all elixir
[11:57 PM] filthincarnate: i could absolutely spare it ya
[11:58 PM] filthincarnate: would you mind sending like a pittance of earth gems or pearls for the lease
[11:58 PM] PurpleXVI: I'd prefer to spare you some pearls so I can keep the earth gems for dwarven hammers.
[11:59 PM] filthincarnate: pearls are fine
[11:59 PM] filthincarnate: i'm super hungry for both
[11:59 PM] filthincarnate: my astral stuff is very very expensive
[12:00 AM] PurpleXVI: Actually, I'm not sure how worth it is sending me the elixir. The sacreds have all been diseased for several turns and most of them have racked up two or three non-disease conditions.
[12:00 AM] filthincarnate: the elixir cures one disease a turn in the prov that it's in
[12:00 AM] PurpleXVI: Though... wait, one of my Anointed of Rhuax caught the disease, too. Yeah I definitely want to save him.
[12:00 AM] filthincarnate: he's saveable via conventional means
[12:00 AM] filthincarnate: idk if you're aware
[12:01 AM] filthincarnate: thaum5, pyre of catharsis

[12:02 AM] filthincarnate: you can send the elixir back whenever you're done with it, no rush

so here's the scheme: i give ubar back their fort that we stole many turns ago, giving them an avenue to ermor via their south.

and ofc they already have this new avenue to their north, so they can pour out in both directions.

abysia will invade from the east, via former tc

and we can come in from whatever border we choose, since we border ermor everywhere, basically.

the gentleman's ménage à trois......

The cap-only sacreds and cap-only mages greatly benefit from being Larger, but it also makes them eat more, which goes poorly with a Death dominion, as I learned the hard way. :v:

Also the air shield part of the bless is from the Throne of Air that I took. I probably could have gotten away with overblessing my sacreds less and giving myself better scales, but lesson learned! The rest of it was intended to boost my casters since Liquid Flames is a muy bueno spell, that sadly only the Anointed really have the paths to cast, if I remember right. But they have the extra Fire when casting it that it just completely fucks dudes up. Blasts a huge area for tons of AP damage and then leaves a damaging fire field behind that your own guys will just casually walk through while it erases chunks of enemy stacks.

Unlike most nations, Growth/Death scales for Abysia have absolutely NO effect on supplies outside the natural slow reduction from the (very) slow population loss.

lanka and abysia both send us some gems as a result of diplomacy.

we forged this for lanka and abysia's paying us to lease our disease-curing elixir item, which you'll recall we got a long time ago via random event. commerce.

here is our current gem income, btw. it's.....fine. we need more. a lot more. we're working on it give me a few turns. in the meantime we'll continue to wheel and deal.

anyway. this turn we killed ai ulm's sieging army:

under celestial music, with our bless up, they didn't have a chance. i didn't even bother to bring a howl caster this time.

elsewhere, i sent some fishy mercs to clear an underwater province in ubar's cap circle:

looks like it went fine. let's take a look anyway tho.

our fishy boys:

the indies:

this guy is normally a mage but he has a slave collar on. hilarious

sea trolls. they mostly suck; they have some niche use as a regenerating sack of hp.

krakens are cool but they also suck.

the trolls rout after like one turn of melee

a troll in a net.

anyway we win.

random events:

ugh, fine, whatever.

luck scales vindicated once again.

pretty good

elsewhere:

sauro and yomi are tussling.

yomi's crew. sauro's is just pd.

hmmm looks like yomi's got gems on these mages.

and he's brought some recruitable indies. interesting.

the shikome are deliberately held in reserve. unclear what his long-term strat is, we'll see if we can't tag along and find out though.

remember this guy? we got him in a random event (he was shipwrecked and we forced him into slavery)

turns out we have an assignment for him. we're gonna use him to scry some thrones.

looks like marv has gotten cap-adjacent to pan, who has filled their cap with a big stack of trash in response. i can't see what' marv's fielding tho.

that's the turn. we've got five yogi factories online right now, plus our cap and our loremaster fort. we have to give a fort to ubar soon, but: gotta spend money to make money.

diplomacy:

talking to marv:
11:38 PM] filthincarnate: looks like you've gotten cap-adjacent to pan eh
[11:38 PM] filthincarnate: i can't see with what, i just see you've got a prov in his cap circle

Loremasters are such extremely good stuff, even if you just get access to a couple more paths, searching-wise, that can be a real gamechanger. Also a couple of 2-path loremasters can also help you break into some booster types you normally wouldn't be able to make.

Weird owl has life all figured out
t36

the turn begins with some drama:

haha marv stole pan's moak. what a bitchy move.

(for those not "in the know": there can only be one global enchantment of a type active at any given time; i.e. there can't be *two* mother oaks. so if someone wants to cast Mother Oak, and there's another Mother Oak active, they have to try to overwrite your spell.

there's a mechanic governing this that give me a second and we'll get into. suffice to say that pan spent more gems than marverni did to overcast the spell.

whether or not trying to overwrite a global is worth the cost (and the risk) can be a complicated question: some global enchantments do weird stuff that it would be hard to straightforwardly measure the worth of, but in this case it's pretty easy to measure, because all mother oak does is generate extra gems.

specifically, mother oak generates 10 nature gems per turn; its base cost is iirc 50 gems, so presuming you cast it for the minimum required amount (i.e. "mincasting"), it will take 5 turns to pay for itself and 6 to turn a profit. pan just cast it on turn 34, so it generated 20 gems before marv overwrote it, leaving pan holding the bag to the tune of at least 30 nature gems.

on the other hand, marv almost certainly overcast moak by some unknown (and unknowable, unless he turns up to tell us) amount. "overcasting" is: how many gems you add into the spell, beyond its minimum cast, to protect it from getting dispelled or overwritten. for example you can put 150 gems into moak, even though it only "costs" 50; this means that someone attempting to overcast by less than 100 will probably end up having their global fail, which wastes all the gems.

anyway i said it was a "bitchy" move because: while it did some damage to pan, overcasting moak means that moak will take longer to pay for itself, and thus be "worth it".

overall this is good news for us: what makes a war a "hellwar" is: an endless, spiteful waste of everyone's time and resources, so it's good for our neighbors to be engaged in them)

anyway. moving on.

we're beginning to scry thrones. here's the throne of gaia, a little to our northwest.

meanwhile yomi's attacking sauro's throne over here, clearing out some more pd. let's take a look.

it's the same stack we saw last turn, with some additions, including dai oni. all of the earth mages have earth gems to (i assume) cast those earth buffs that people seem to like. we'll keep a scout parked under the stack and see how things go.

random events:

tensions between different moieties run high.....

another shipwreck, another azure mage. get to scryin', buddy.

meanwhile, our mercenaries took the last of ai ulm's territories so i let their contracts lapse. ulm is down to just their cap and one prov to the east there that i guess they just took this turn.

farewell, dante. you served us well. enjoy retirement.

and guess what? next turn, we finally hit ench7. it's taken a while, but the end is in sight.

that's the turn. we've almost got north-south wraparound. our coming war with ermor should get us there, if we play our cards right.

diplomacy corner:

talking to lanka:
1:11 AM] filthincarnate: comrade lanka, did you receive your girdle
[1:11 AM] filthincarnate: how goes the war effort
[1:53 AM] Tekk: Nibbling away at Yomi while empowering the God a bit
[1:54 AM] Tekk: And yes got the girdle thanks
[1:35 PM] filthincarnate: boom
[1:35 PM] filthincarnate: empowering the god in earth for summon earthpower?
[1:35 PM] Tekk: Yes
[1:35 PM] Tekk: Have empowered
[1:35 PM] Tekk: Also Temper Flesh and Ironskin
[1:36 PM] Tekk: With the summon earthpower and the item he's on 5 reinvig and enc 3
[1:36 PM] Tekk: Giving him some fire also for fireshield and (eventually) PP
[1:37 PM] Tekk: Need to work out how to nail the single DaiOni running about - all my thugs are dead and the God will just chase him about while being hit and regenning
[1:38 PM] filthincarnate: what were your thugs
[1:38 PM] filthincarnate: hmmmm
[1:38 PM] Tekk: I had a couple of geared seducers and a couple of the Cap mages
[1:38 PM] filthincarnate: ah
[1:38 PM] Tekk: did ok but died to DaiOnis
[1:38 PM] Tekk: Previous game I had a seducer God which worked nicely
[1:38 PM] Tekk: Might try that again
[1:38 PM] filthincarnate: is it geared for mr
[1:39 PM] filthincarnate: the dai oni
[1:39 PM] Tekk: No but seduce not exactly super likely - its mainly just an assasination atttempt with a small chance of seduce
[1:39 PM] filthincarnate: no i know
[1:39 PM] filthincarnate: i'm thinking about forgeable/castable counters
[1:39 PM] filthincarnate: normally the answer to stuff like that is "research", which i'm assuming you don't have
[1:40 PM] Tekk: My research is now buggered :p
[1:40 PM] filthincarnate: what levels do you have already
[1:40 PM] Tekk: Im just a thorn in the side of Yomi but while hes distracted im slowly taking more provinces than he is
[1:40 PM] Tekk: Cap will be an issue
[1:40 PM] filthincarnate: why, he barely has anything these
[1:40 PM] filthincarnate: there*
[1:41 PM] filthincarnate: afaict
[1:41 PM] Tekk: Because until I kill the DO an army would just die to it
[1:42 PM] filthincarnate: i see
[1:42 PM] filthincarnate: so
[1:42 PM] filthincarnate: are you casting bleed at it
[1:43 PM] filthincarnate: the b0 spell that makes it bleed
[1:43 PM] Tekk: Im not fighting it at all atm
[1:43 PM] filthincarnate: okay have you tried it
[1:43 PM] Tekk: It spends a turn killing 1 province with a couple of PD
[1:43 PM] Tekk: I spend the turn taking a couple of provinces back
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: how many raktapa do you have
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: slash how many blood slaves
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: slash how many kala mukha
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: secondarily is it geared at all
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: if it has regen bleed won't work
[1:45 PM] Tekk: I have about 40 mages left across the various forts - im building the Sacred Monkeys which are killing the provicnes
[1:45 PM] Tekk: He is partially geared and doesnt have ror
[1:45 PM] filthincarnate: mmm
[1:46 PM] Tekk: Has huge levels of attack
[1:46 PM] Tekk: 29 or so
[1:46 PM] filthincarnate: like the melee stat
[1:46 PM] filthincarnate: who loving cares
[1:46 PM] Tekk: haha
[1:46 PM] filthincarnate: whoop de loving do
[1:46 PM] Tekk: Just makes it hard to kill with melee
[1:47 PM] Tekk: This isnt a huge issue for me atm - as I said while im able to build uip a bit and do the various god stuff I wanna do, and he isnt hurting me, I can live with it
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: walk a bunch of mages and your god into the prov he's walking into, situate them forward becuase range will be a problem
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: okay
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: anyway bleed
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: spam bleed
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: and imps
[1:47 PM] Tekk: I did try bleed but that was in the big battle and too many thinsg to hit to see what worked
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: yeah it's at its best vs like
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: 1 thug
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: in fact it hardcounters thugs
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: this is why thugs are bad
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: like you need it to walk toward you enough that you can bleed it
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: but then just bleed it
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: mr negates but cast it a bunch
[1:54 PM] Tekk: Prefer L4L but obviously that's a way away :-)
[1:54 PM] Tekk: Ill clobber it when the opportunity presents
[1:58 PM] Tekk: How is your game going anyway
[1:59 PM] filthincarnate: we're doing okay
[1:59 PM] filthincarnate: researching, i'm gonna hit a milestone soon
[1:59 PM] filthincarnate: ermor is loving gigantic
[1:59 PM] filthincarnate: he's about to get three caps
[1:59 PM] filthincarnate: ulm and tc
[1:59 PM] filthincarnate: so
[1:59 PM] filthincarnate: that's looming on the horizon
[2:00 PM] Tekk: Haha
[2:00 PM] Tekk: I always suckered myself into a sacred strategy with Kailasa which never works
[2:04 PM] filthincarnate: i've also run a sacred strategy
[2:04 PM] filthincarnate: and guess what:
[2:04 PM] filthincarnate: i found one that works :smiling_imp:
[2:05 PM] Tekk: Nice
[2:05 PM] Tekk: You also put a lot of effort into diplo
[2:05 PM] filthincarnate: whatever do you mean
[2:05 PM] Tekk: :-)
[2:05 PM] filthincarnate: these are just friendly chats
[2:06 PM] filthincarnate:
You also put a lot of effort into diplo
ya you gotta do this always imo
[2:06 PM] Tekk: I agree, and the best kind of diplo is
[2:07 PM] Tekk: You play a small number of games very well.
I play a much larger number of games which means the time on diplo tends to be limited, and yes that impacts the game but its entertaining trying new things regardless
[2:08 PM] filthincarnate: oh ya i am definitely sub-20 games, in my five-year dominions career
[2:08 PM] Tekk: My late game tends to suffer also, and I get very bored when the turns slow down too much
[2:08 PM] filthincarnate: like sub 20 games total
2:08 PM] Tekk: I'm generally in 10 or so
[2:08 PM] filthincarnate: jesus
[2:09 PM] Tekk: There is one team game where I spend as much time as required so as to not let the team down
[2:11 PM] Tekk:

[2:11 PM] Tekk: Plus 2 on another server
[2:12 PM] Tekk: Anyway nice talking to you and thanks for the advice :-)
[2:15 PM] Tekk: I'll have to send a spy and see your Bless strategy

talking to ubar:

[2:07 PM] filthincarnate: kk i'll walk 'em over
[2:09 PM] filthincarnate: if anyone but abysia asks, we're at war now

Turn 37, or: We Finally Do Something

loving finally

fuuuuuucking finally

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucking finally

anyway.

meanwhile:

oh hey our first loremaster. we don't actually have air paths yet, so. i guess this is fine.

we've scried another throne, this one in former ulm, current ermor. why are we scrying them? you'll see.

elsewhere:

sauro and yomi are slugging it out. let's take a look.

sauro's army. mostly different flavors of cav. a few units:

people summon these sometimes, idk why.

a sauro mage. he brought 8 of these.

sauro gnome

good stats but 5 hp

yomi brought a pile of the usual

hey yomi's bless is back, they must have recalled their pretender.

sauro's bless will be good tho i think. note the magic weapons, useful vs onis' ethereal secondshape.

looks like those earth gems were for strength of giants.

+4 str, it's fine i guess, i don't love these buffs but others do.

battle is joined. this one is chaos.

several sauro cav detachments are on orders to attack rear

the strength-buffed little oni are blenders though, jeeze

but things go less good for the oni fighting in the big melee

sauro and yomi are both casting skeletons, but guess what: sauro researched the good skeleton spell and yomi didn't

note sauro's skeletal horde, behind his lizard cav.

both armies get mulched but sauro battlesummoned way more skeletons

skeletons aren't great fighters but they don't get scared or tired, and they grind the oni out.

meanwhile:

ermor knocked over ai ulm's cap. we'll take a peek

ermor's stuff

ermor's pretender, wearing some armor and holding some gems

ai ulm. pathetic

these are fun tho, but nobody ever makes them, because they're bad

the god casts flaming arrows, which: yikes. it makes all your projectiles do added fire damage, which would really gently caress up our guys if we were unprepared.

flaming javelins, see

in other news:

we sent the fishy mercs to contest an uw prov and they got wiped. whatever

random events:

i'm sure the kids are fine

thumbs up emoji

do you remember that sectarian movement event? i patrolled those guys out

here's the guy. he's got the heretic trait which unpreaches my dom.

here are his dorks

they get owned

that's the turn. you may notice we're floating a lot of gold; that's intentional, for now.

we're about to get a lot more dangerous.

diplomacy:

talking to abysia:
9:39 PM] filthincarnate: how goes it
[9:39 PM] filthincarnate: you've patrolled out my poor scout ;_;
[9:42 PM] filthincarnate: you ready for lantern production yet?
[4:43 AM] PurpleXVI: I did, in fact, just hit Const 6, so yes.
[10:12 AM] filthincarnate: boom.
[10:12 AM] filthincarnate: you taking orders?
[10:13 AM] PurpleXVI: Yeah, toss me the gems and I'll start pounding them out. Still working on getting some dwarven hammers made, so initial production run might be a bit slow, but they'll be coming.
[10:13 AM] filthincarnate: hmmm okay
[10:13 AM] filthincarnate: looks like we agreed on........
[10:13 AM] filthincarnate: 70f for 20 lanterns
[10:13 AM] filthincarnate: kk i'll send it out
[10:14 AM] PurpleXVI: I probably hosed myself on that deal, but I agreed to it now.
[10:14 AM] filthincarnate: :wow:
[10:14 AM] filthincarnate: you want to renegotiate?
[10:14 AM] PurpleXVI: Naw. That would be a loser move.
[10:15 AM] filthincarnate: all right, i just don't want ill feelings
[10:15 AM] filthincarnate: Goodwill Between Allies is important
[10:15 AM] PurpleXVI: Eh, it's a game. Ill fillings are hard to come by.
[10:15 AM] PurpleXVI: Feelings, too.
[10:15 AM] filthincarnate: you'd think so, and yet
[10:16 AM] PurpleXVI: I think the only time I've ever gotten angry at Dominions was when I basically lost a war because of the game mechanics behaving in a completely unexpected manner. But then I just cast Wrath of God and I was happy again.
[10:16 AM] filthincarnate: i'll send you 35 for the first ten? and we'll reevaluate thereafter
[10:17 AM] PurpleXVI: If you prefer it that way, sure.
[10:17 AM] filthincarnate: kk
*****purple might get cold feet at some point, let's just be careful****

talking to yomi:
1:42 PM] filthincarnate: comrade yomi.....greetings
[1:42 PM] filthincarnate: how goes the war effort
[1:42 PM] filthincarnate: vs lanka/sauro
[1:43 PM] Arcvasti: I don't know actually
[1:43 PM] Arcvasti: I haven't checked this turn yet
[1:43 PM] filthincarnate: mmmm
[1:43 PM] Arcvasti: don't tell me what happened this turn either!!
[1:43 PM] filthincarnate: well idk either my scout coverage is terrible
[1:43 PM] filthincarnate: :wow:
[1:43 PM] Arcvasti: I want it to be a surprise
[1:43 PM] filthincarnate: kk
[1:43 PM] filthincarnate: anyway i wanted to circle back re: death gems, wondering if you wanted to buy mine
[1:43 PM] Arcvasti: probably yeah
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: kk lmk
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: i'm making some infrastructure investments and could use lots of astral or earth
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: which i'm assuming you have minimal use for
[1:44 PM] Arcvasti: it's actually getting to the point where I'm using the national summons to make oni
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: is that
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: good
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: or
[1:44 PM] Arcvasti: it's pretty bad
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: mmm.
[1:44 PM] filthincarnate: well i have 80 or so death gems burning a hole in my pocket
[1:45 PM] filthincarnate: i also have a pile of fire, idk if that's useful to you
[1:45 PM] filthincarnate: that one i'm currently in talks re: with someone else tho
[1:45 PM] filthincarnate: but i'm willing to entertain multiple offers
[1:45 PM] Arcvasti: I haven't checked my turn yet but I think I have like 60+ pearls lying around
[1:46 PM] Arcvasti: you have to promise not to use them to wish for armageddon though
[1:46 PM] filthincarnate: i'll take 'em off your hands gladly, especially since the primary thing i would do with all my death gems is just turn them into pearls, so
[1:46 PM] filthincarnate: you're the one with an s10 god
[1:46 PM] Arcvasti: my standard pearl trading policy
[1:46 PM] filthincarnate: ya i'm not planning to wish anytime soon, or probably ever
[1:46 PM] Arcvasti: can never be too careful
[1:46 PM] filthincarnate: so that's a promise i'm comfortable making
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: did you get your god back btw
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: i saw that one fight totally by happenstance, had a scout passing through on his way to something else
[1:47 PM] Arcvasti: I've had a bunch of demon priests doing call god for ages now
[1:47 PM] filthincarnate: mmm
[1:47 PM] Arcvasti: I templed an event citadel last turn and have been pumping out three demon priests a turn from it since
[1:48 PM] Arcvasti: so hopefully I got them back this turn
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: boom
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: wait
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: an "event" citadel???
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: those exist???
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: that's cool
[1:48 PM] Arcvasti: well I guess it's technically a site citadel
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: oh okay
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: what site
[1:48 PM] Arcvasti: fir bolg fortress or something
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: fir bolg
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: ah
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: ya
[1:48 PM] filthincarnate: that's the one
[1:49 PM] filthincarnate: mmkay checking the turn btw i have 82 death gems atm
[1:49 PM] Arcvasti: it was really funny actually, because it popped up right as sauromatia was about to attack it
[1:49 PM] filthincarnate: which i'd trade one to one for a combo of pearls/earth gems
[1:49 PM] filthincarnate: sauro got owned
[1:49 PM] filthincarnate: boom
[1:50 PM] filthincarnate: anyway lmk re: commerce, i'll partial as per usual so no rush
[1:50 PM] filthincarnate: but maybe we could reconvene before the game turns over? :)?

talking to marv:

****marv sent a screenshot of the yomi/sauro battle screen***
[11:53 AM] filthincarnate: :wow:
[11:53 AM] filthincarnate: brutal on both sides
[11:54 AM] filthincarnate: it's crazy that at this point in the game yomi doesn't have horde of skeletons up
[11:54 AM] 🦍➡💀 DrBonertron: sauro is casting a lot of horde of skeletons
[11:54 AM] filthincarnate: ya
[11:54 AM] filthincarnate: well they should
[11:54 AM] filthincarnate: it's a good spell
[11:54 AM] 🦍➡💀 DrBonertron: ya
[11:54 AM] filthincarnate: it's nothing a line of size4 boars wouldn't walk right over
[11:55 AM] 🦍➡💀 DrBonertron: ya. next turn i'll have gifts and then .. well, i guess i should talk to pan but i might have to kill him after that
[11:55 AM] 🦍➡💀 DrBonertron: sauro looks like a problem
[11:58 AM] filthincarnate: sauro is quite large
[11:58 AM] filthincarnate: ya
[11:59 AM] filthincarnate: i am duly concerned but unfortunately i am a long skinny nation between the two Big Nations
[11:59 AM] filthincarnate: i.e. sauro and ermor
[11:59 AM] filthincarnate: so i have to juggle my attention
[11:59 AM] filthincarnate: but if you're interested in killing sauro at some point i'm in
[11:59 AM] filthincarnate: i'm even researching a hardcounter to horde of skeletons
[12:00 PM] filthincarnate: so, should be good
[12:01 PM] filthincarnate: honestly tho you + pan could probably really gently caress up sauro
[12:01 PM] filthincarnate: worth talking to him
2:17 PM] 🦍➡💀 DrBonertron: okay i think pan is fine with not fighting but i dont know if they can attack sauro. i will attack sauro though
****note: is this a good idea? who knows? but it will ideally keep everyone occupied, postponing yomi's loss****

talking to yomi again:
1:07 PM] filthincarnate: wanted to "circle back"
[1:07 PM] filthincarnate: i don't suppose you've looked at the turn yet?
[1:08 PM] Arcvasti: I haven't
[1:08 PM] filthincarnate: you like to wait for like an hour before deadline eh
[1:08 PM] Arcvasti: I'm like 99% sure that I have at least 60 pearls
[1:08 PM] Arcvasti: so I'm fine trading those 1:1 for death gems
[1:09 PM] filthincarnate: cool so i guess you want me to send 60 death?
[1:09 PM] Arcvasti: yes
[1:09 PM] filthincarnate: mmkay
[1:09 PM] filthincarnate: i'll put it in the mail
[1:09 PM] Arcvasti: if I forget to do this trade then I'll send like eleven extra pearls next turn as an apology
[1:09 PM] filthincarnate:

emboldened by our earlier mercantile success, we're taking a chance on some risky investments. fingers crossed.

So how many gems did you put into your EBDW cast?

Arcvasti
Jun 12, 2019

Never trust a bird.
I'm pretty sure I did actually have horde of skeletons by this point, I just didn't have as many casters as sauromatia. It's also entirely possible that I forgot to rescript my guys from the ench3 version, not that it would have helped at this point. I was pretty much dead at this point, having lost most of my territory, troops and also my god, so I wasn't particularly motivated to script powerfully.

EDIT:

Yeah I definitely have it online and scripted. Just didn't do much with the magepower I had on hand.

we're cooking with gas now.

:sickos:

with 27 earth gems a turn we can do a lot. not quite yet though; we're going to bank it real quick for one more big spell.

also earthquake is online now. (for those counting at home: yes, we jumped from evo0 to evo5 in a single turn, such is the might of our current research engine)

with earthquake online we can kill basically any enemy army at this point, provided we have the earth gems to do so. and guess what bitch: now we do!!!!

or we soon will, give me a second.

anyway

ubar is moving to take back their fort, as we discussed.

and agartha's decided to war pan. hilarious.

let's take a look

agartha has not progressed much. i guess they have trolls now

a troll

a war troll

a troll atop a moose.

and this is a big mage. i bet it won't cast much but: it's a big mage.

anyway we'll see if anything big happens on that front.

moving on.

found some magic sites, +1e a turn and gem deposits produce 75 gold each turn. pretty nice.

random event:

have you guys seen this one yet? well whatever.

okay so:

notice how much gold we're sitting on? we're gonna start spending it. watch, i'm going to recruit a round of gukyas from every fort.

there.

they're expensive, see?

i have a plan for this; give me a few turns.

btw have we seen this ubar unit yet? if not here he is.

diplomacy corner:

talking to ramc:
[10:29 PM] filthincarnate: okay ebdw is up
[10:29 PM] filthincarnate: we've got 27 e a turn
[10:29 PM] Ramc: big oil
[10:29 PM] filthincarnate: two more turns until riches from beneath
[10:29 PM] filthincarnate: unless i want to blow my pearl stash which i don't
[10:29 PM] Ramc: monkey oil barons
[10:29 PM] filthincarnate: i want to turn my pearls into mages
[10:30 PM] filthincarnate: anyway we have earthquake, mass flight, and arrow fend all researched
[10:30 PM] Ramc: jesus
[10:31 PM] filthincarnate: yeah we need troops and casters
[10:31 PM] filthincarnate: conj6 gets us casters
[10:31 PM] filthincarnate: riches gets us troops
[10:31 PM] filthincarnate: from there we clean ermor's clock
[10:31 PM] Ramc: how goes the fightings
[10:31 PM] filthincarnate: no fighting really
[10:32 PM] filthincarnate: abysia and ermor are cleaning up ai tc
[10:32 PM] filthincarnate: agartha has invaded pan for some reason
[10:32 PM] filthincarnate: oh and we've arranged to buy lanterns in bulk from abysia
[10:32 PM] filthincarnate: who knows how that will work out but
[10:32 PM] filthincarnate: v[''.]v
[10:33 PM] filthincarnate: we've got some fiddly bootsrapping to do but
[10:33 PM] filthincarnate: should be good
[10:34 PM] filthincarnate: i need const6 to summon kinnara
[10:34 PM] filthincarnate: because i need an astral booster
[10:34 PM] Ramc: wealth beyond measure, outlander
[10:34 PM] filthincarnate: coin i can't make without hat
[10:34 PM] filthincarnate: so
[10:35 PM] filthincarnate: moving as fast as i can, which is pretty fast
[11:02 PM] filthincarnate: okay so
[11:02 PM] filthincarnate: how many interlocking earthquake casters is enough
[11:02 PM] filthincarnate: is it 4? 6? 8?
[11:02 PM] Ramc: 4 is usually p good
[11:02 PM] Ramc: more is just, well, more murder
[11:02 PM] Ramc: you have an embarassment of riches with EQ casters I guess
[11:02 PM] filthincarnate: i figure i really, really want to loving kill ermor's stack
[11:03 PM] filthincarnate: yes literally any yaksha can cast it
[11:03 PM] Ramc: like 6-8 e5 casters should obliterate a bunch of humans p absolutely i feel?
[11:03 PM] filthincarnate: i agree ya
[11:03 PM] filthincarnate: their script is gonna be summon earthpower---> earthquake because i don't have a t1 mass flight caster available for a while
[11:04 PM] filthincarnate: so the mass flight caster has to cast communion master----> mass flight
[11:04 PM] Ramc: float rings sort of fiddly ya
[11:04 PM] Ramc: will the flight go off first
[11:06 PM] filthincarnate: earthquake casting time is 200%
[11:06 PM] filthincarnate: mass flight is 175%
[11:06 PM] filthincarnate: so if they're begun simultaneously mass flight gets off just in time
[11:07 PM] filthincarnate: and summon earthpower/communion master are both 100%
[11:07 PM] filthincarnate: ofc the real nightmare scenario is:
[11:07 PM] Ramc: ok ya
[11:07 PM] filthincarnate: someone magic duels my mass flight caster
[11:07 PM] filthincarnate: before the earthquakes hit
[11:07 PM] filthincarnate: but if i bring a pile of yogis
[11:07 PM] filthincarnate: i figure it's probably fine
[11:07 PM] Ramc: yes
[11:08 PM] filthincarnate: honestly just mass flight probably wins me the fights
[11:08 PM] filthincarnate: this all might be overkill
[11:08 PM] filthincarnate: idk
[11:08 PM] filthincarnate: what do you think
[11:08 PM] Ramc: it might be but also imagine the morale hit
[11:08 PM] Ramc: irl
[11:08 PM] filthincarnate: mass flight/celestial music
[11:08 PM] filthincarnate: hmmmmm
[11:09 PM] Ramc: if you got fog warriors in there too thats game for non novelty armies
11:09 PM] filthincarnate: fog warriors is a ways away
[11:09 PM] filthincarnate: i currently have alt0
[11:09 PM] filthincarnate: so it's not on the radar atm
[11:10 PM] filthincarnate: mass flight/earthquake x whatever/arrow fend/howl/celestial music
[11:10 PM] filthincarnate: i could also do foul vapors/serpent's blessing but
[11:10 PM] filthincarnate: that seems like overkill
[11:10 PM] filthincarnate: since whatever i'm fighting is gonna be blendered
[11:11 PM] filthincarnate: point is we've got a lot of poo poo
[11:17 PM] filthincarnate: idk is it crazy with this setup to just go for the throat re: ermor
[11:18 PM] filthincarnate: i need to think about where exactly i'm going to invade
[11:20 PM] Ramc: yeah the poison is overkill
[11:20 PM] Ramc: if you can lunge his cap with it i mean
[11:20 PM] Ramc: sure
[11:20 PM] filthincarnate: i promised ubar and abysia a cap each
[11:20 PM] Ramc: aha
[11:20 PM] filthincarnate: since ermor's got 3 or will shortly
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: i kinda wanted ulm?
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: since it gives 3e a turn
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: but
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: like
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: sort of a drop in the bucket at this point rihgt
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: i could let ubar have ulm
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: abysia's taking tc
[11:21 PM] filthincarnate: and i could go for ermor itself
[11:22 PM] filthincarnate: honestly a conversation to have with ermor i suppose
[11:22 PM] Ramc: once ermor is dead you will be killing one of them sooner or later anyway
[11:22 PM] filthincarnate: once ermor is dead i'm going directly for the win
[11:22 PM] Ramc: nice
[11:22 PM] filthincarnate: that's it
[11:22 PM] filthincarnate: do not pass go, do not collect $200
[11:23 PM] filthincarnate: straight for the throat
[11:23 PM] Ramc: the end (of the LP) no moral
[11:23 PM] filthincarnate:
honestly a conversation to have with ermor i suppose
ubar i mean
[11:23 PM] Ramc: turtle emoji wearing general's hat and aviator glasses
[11:23 PM] filthincarnate: :wow:
[11:23 PM] Ramc: pointing out thrones on a map with a riding crop
[11:23 PM] filthincarnate: i need 7 thrones to win
[11:23 PM] filthincarnate: i'm currently scrying as many as i can
[11:23 PM] filthincarnate: within distance
[11:24 PM] filthincarnate: earth attack will trivialize a lot of stuff
[11:24 PM] filthincarnate: the main thing someone can do to gently caress me up is dispel ebdw
[11:24 PM] filthincarnate: but i'm not getting that vibe from this crew
[11:24 PM] filthincarnate: could be wrong but
[11:24 PM] Ramc: I cant imagine people would
[11:24 PM] Ramc: its a gemgen
[11:24 PM] Ramc: there will be worse stuff cast
11:24 PM] Ramc: stolen, maybe
[11:25 PM] filthincarnate: the main candidate for that is agartha
[11:25 PM] filthincarnate: and they've blown their poo poo summoning trolls
[11:25 PM] filthincarnate: i guess maybe the pig
[11:25 PM] filthincarnate: marv's
[11:25 PM] filthincarnate: but he's going up evo
[11:25 PM] filthincarnate: for whatsit
[11:25 PM] filthincarnate: gifts
[11:26 PM] filthincarnate: which he's just barely reached
[11:26 PM] filthincarnate: so i doubt he has the research to get to ench7
[11:26 PM] filthincarnate: and it's a really low-income map

talking to ubar:
11:34 PM] filthincarnate: mmkay good you're taking possession
[11:34 PM] filthincarnate: get at me sometime so we can talk strategy re: ermor
[11:35 PM] filthincarnate: basically i'm looking at how we'll want to go in as well as how we'll want to carve stuff up afterwards
[11:35 PM] filthincarnate: i promised you a cap and i intend to deliver
[11:35 PM] filthincarnate: the question is would you prefer ermor or ulm?
[2:38 PM] filthincarnate: interested in "circling back", re the above, when you have the opportunity
[2:41 PM] YNRN: Oh yeah I almost forgot
[2:41 PM] filthincarnate: fortunately i'm here to remind you  and also the timer's been reset so we have lots of time and it's extremely nonurgent
[2:41 PM] YNRN: Ulm's capital is closer but you're kind of in the way of it, so I guess I'd go for ermor's cap
[2:41 PM] YNRN: Nice
[2:42 PM] filthincarnate: boom okay
[2:42 PM] filthincarnate: that'll make logistical sense too
[2:42 PM] filthincarnate: since your fortcrackers on my fort will be in position to walk towards ermor
[2:42 PM] YNRN: Yeah
[2:42 PM] filthincarnate: btw you know your camels could walk far and be stealthy if you led them with other camels right
[2:43 PM] YNRN: Yes
[2:43 PM] filthincarnate: okay just checking
[2:43 PM] YNRN: But that guy's my prophet
[2:43 PM] filthincarnate: so
[2:43 PM] filthincarnate: ?
[2:43 PM] YNRN: I dunno I want him to be useful somehow :p
[2:43 PM] filthincarnate: have him preach somewhere
[2:43 PM] YNRN: I could trade him with a camel though
[2:43 PM] filthincarnate: or look for holy sites
[2:43 PM] YNRN: Two camels probably
[2:43 PM] filthincarnate: indeed
[2:44 PM] filthincarnate: anyway re: war with ermor do you have enough stealthy raiders to take, like, at least 6 ermor provs the first turn
[2:44 PM] YNRN: I've been glad ghuls are stealthy though, hadn't used them enough before now to know
[2:44 PM] filthincarnate: that is dope actually yeah
[2:44 PM] filthincarnate:
anyway re: war with ermor do you have enough stealthy raiders to take, like, at least 6 ermor provs the first turn
ideally more like 8 or 10
[2:44 PM] YNRN: I had 100 camels before I bumped with abysia, now I only have 50
[2:44 PM] filthincarnate: mmm
[2:45 PM] YNRN: So I'm not sure if I do or not
[2:45 PM] filthincarnate: are you having gold issues or do you have troops or
[2:45 PM] YNRN: That said I have a lot of shaytans and houris
[2:45 PM] filthincarnate: mmm
[2:45 PM] filthincarnate: ya abysia or i could forge you equipment for them i expect
[2:45 PM] filthincarnate: at very competitive rates
[2:46 PM] filthincarnate: putting a shirt on a shaytan all of a sudden makes it pretty survivable
[2:46 PM] filthincarnate:
ideally more like 8 or 10
anyway my thinking with this is: we basically want ermor to go ai as soon as possible
[2:46 PM] filthincarnate: instead of trying to fight it out
[2:47 PM] YNRN: I actually have 80 camels now that I'm looking again
[2:47 PM] filthincarnate: so turn1 he loses a bunch of poo poo to your stealthy raiders, has kailasa and abysia armies visible on all his borders
[2:47 PM] filthincarnate: oh that's 4 provs each
[2:47 PM] filthincarnate: raiding parties of 20
[2:47 PM] YNRN: Yeah that could work
[2:47 PM] YNRN: And I have my ghul pack
[2:47 PM] filthincarnate: boom.
[2:48 PM] YNRN: And houris and shaytans (I've equipped a couple with basic swords so they shouldn't die trying to punch a milita or something)
[2:48 PM] filthincarnate: boom.
[2:48 PM] filthincarnate: do you want to raid both n/s as we discussed
[2:48 PM] filthincarnate: north/south that is
[2:48 PM] filthincarnate: or would you rather stream your forces south toward ermor's cap
[2:48 PM] filthincarnate: and have me punch up north via ulm
[2:51 PM] YNRN: Hmm, probably the latter personally
[2:51 PM] YNRN: Also worth mentioning because I'm noticing it again on the map: Purple might be lying to you
[2:51 PM] YNRN: because ermor doesn't seem to have any path to tc's cap
[2:51 PM] YNRN: Except through a throne
[2:51 PM] YNRN: With the two annunaki on it
[2:52 PM] YNRN: And it doesn't look like abysia is attacking AI TC that much either
[2:52 PM] YNRN: Actually not entirely true ermor controls that lake
[2:52 PM] YNRN: So I guess he could stream merrows into tc's cap
[2:54 PM] YNRN: I'm still down to attack ermor just abysia might not really care
[3:03 PM] filthincarnate: i hear you
[3:03 PM] filthincarnate: where's whatsit, tc's cap
[3:03 PM] filthincarnate: what prov # i don't have eyes on it
[3:04 PM] filthincarnate:
I'm still down to attack ermor just abysia might not really care
anyway the good news if this is true is: ermor will be substantially weaker than i anticipated, meaning the war should be easier
[3:06 PM] YNRN: TC's cap is 196
[3:07 PM] filthincarnate: kk one sec
[3:08 PM] filthincarnate: mmm yeah unclear what's going on there
[3:08 PM] filthincarnate: my initial guess is:
[3:08 PM] filthincarnate: incompetence, rather than malice
[3:09 PM] YNRN: You can never be sure with purple, at least the way he presents himself
[3:09 PM] filthincarnate: i hear you, i think i can tho
[3:09 PM] YNRN: But maybe he just hasn't been able to seal the deal sure
[3:09 PM] filthincarnate: he's into the fun stuff
[3:09 PM] filthincarnate: wheeling and dealing, commerce, etc
[3:09 PM] filthincarnate: cleaning up an ai doesn't sound fun to hm
[3:09 PM] YNRN: I guess that makes sense
[3:10 PM] filthincarnate:
So I guess he could stream merrows into tc's cap
re this, i think ermor is massing merrows in 186 for precisely this purpose
[3:11 PM] filthincarnate: but who knows
[3:11 PM] filthincarnate: ermor's plan was: kill ulm, kill tc, get to const6 for lanterns and make a pile to research
[3:11 PM] filthincarnate: the idea here is to hit him while he's building infrastructure and teching up
[3:13 PM] filthincarnate: anyway ty for the intel i'll reach out to abysia
[3:13 PM] filthincarnate: glad we got the general war plan sorted out, keep me posted as things develop and lmk if i can be of assistance
[3:13 PM] YNRN: Yeah no problem
[3:13 PM] YNRN: Will do

talking to abysia:
10:43 PM] filthincarnate: all right we're cooking with gas now
[10:43 PM] filthincarnate: let me know when you want to go re: ermor
[10:44 PM] filthincarnate: and keep me posted on lantern production
[3:03 PM] filthincarnate: wanted to "circle back", on this
[3:12 PM] filthincarnate: oh and lmk if you reconsider outsourcing your dwarven hammer production
[3:13 PM] PurpleXVI: I think I'm good for now, my PG has the paths to hammer, ha ha, them out.
[3:13 PM] filthincarnate: boom
[3:14 PM] filthincarnate: so question, i'm looking at the map here and uh does ermor actually have a route to tc's cap?
[3:14 PM] filthincarnate: i think you could probably beat him to it
[3:14 PM] PurpleXVI: I confess to not being sure, I can't see that side of things and, oof, I wish. My economy is looking pretty rough and I have absolutely no idea why. I don't even have that massive an army. It just feels like the gold is vanishing somewhere.
[3:14 PM] filthincarnate: is your upkeep really high?
[3:15 PM] filthincarnate: hmmmm  well, if you're gold-hungry, there are definitely options we could discuss
[3:16 PM] filthincarnate: how big is your stash of f and what's your biggest f mage
[3:34 PM] PurpleXVI: Oh yeah, I've been burning spare fire gems for gold, trust me.
[3:35 PM] filthincarnate: hmmm well i might have some gold soon
[3:36 PM] filthincarnate: would you be interested in a cash-for-gems deal?
[3:36 PM] PurpleXVI: I could probably be convinced. I'll see how my situation looks next turn that rolls around.
[3:37 PM] filthincarnate: ya ofc
[3:38 PM] filthincarnate: give me a few turns i have to prepare for such a thing
[3:38 PM] filthincarnate: but ya i'd be willing to finance you i think
[3:41 PM] PurpleXVI: Consider it an investment in future comedy.

so here's the now-ai tien chi's supposed capital, according to ubar

and here is ermor's crew of amphibious merrows, also as seen in conversation with ubar.

we're forging a thistle mace. it'll be good for howl casters; we might make a few more later.

anyway that's the turn.

...on the plus side I'm feeling much more angry now than I expected so this totally helps me get in character.
The hidden benefit to overwriting someone's gemgen in a massive overcast is that while you won't recover that cost quickly, you've permanently deprived someone else of their income. Would I pay 150 gems (minus 10/turn) to take away 10 gems per turn from a direct opponent? The way I see it, if I steal a global from someone I'm going to have to take on by endgame, it pays for itself in half the time it would if all I did was cast it myself into an empty slot.

it's true! as i note in my conversation with ramc, someone dispelling or stealing ebdw soon after i'd mincast it would basically cripple me, in this circumstance.

of course they'd have no way of knowing that my base earth income was that low. but still!

I've had at least one game get derailed because I could not for the life of me get a vital gem type income going despite searching every drat province at A3 or A4 as MA Caelum. I was swinging 3 air gems a turn by the mid-late game and it killed me

Wait, not finding any income for your main gem type is abnormal?

turn 39

ai ulm is finally dead forever. rest in peace, friend; sorry we betrayed you and murdered you

lanka attempts reconquest. let's watch

lanka's crew. looks like the god with a view blood slaves and some zombie monkeys to block.

skeletal monkey

zombie gorilla

tiny skeletal monkey

have we seen blood slaves yet? if not here they are. try not to think about how she got kidnapped from her home and her family was murdered if they tried to resist

lanka's crew. talk about small force tactics.

here's the dai oni. looks like this guy's some sort of hero

this is what he's holding.

lanka's god. he's undergone some changes. note that he's wearing the girdle we forged him.

lanka's zombies and yomi's pd fight each other and die while the big boys buff themselves

fire shield is good for getting lowlevel undead to self-own en masse

big boy fight

dai oni gets trampled around. note the low hp here

now he's dead, but his ghost is still kicking.

ghost oni gets scared and runs away, surviving but losing his equipment.

random events:

luck scales vindicated yet again.

another loremaster pops, once again with paths we already have. lame.

and honestly i kinda want research right now so we'll switch to sages over loremasters. as i said before, they're like yogis but they research better.

so, interestingly, we can actually summon our cap-only mages, in addition to recruiting them.

i kind of want a couple yakshini but i don't want to spend cap turns recruiting them so i'm going to opt to summon a few, using our new thistle mace.

our current gem stockpiles/income. next turn we're gonna do something fun with our earth, and from there it's off to the races.

in other news:

sauro patrolled out a scout of ours and we get a look at a fun army.

some fun items here

a very manly talisman

an arena champion with ptsd

her item

that happened right here, sauro and yomi are posturing i guess

diplomacy corner:

talking to jbrereton (consigliere, non-wartime):
3:17 PM] filthincarnate: okay here's a question
[3:17 PM] filthincarnate: how would a primarily astral nation fight horrors
[3:17 PM] filthincarnate: doom horrors i mean
[3:17 PM] jBrereton: how many horrors are we talking
[3:17 PM] jBrereton: or is this cataclysm time
[3:17 PM] filthincarnate: i'm looking at cataclysm
[3:17 PM] filthincarnate: it's not here for 3 years
[3:17 PM] filthincarnate: but
[3:17 PM] jBrereton: OK. can you guys fight worth a poo poo
[3:17 PM] filthincarnate: idk i don't know if i can win before then, i'm kailasa
[3:17 PM] jBrereton: OK so that's a not really to that question
[3:18 PM] filthincarnate: they're good with a gazillion buffs but no magic weapons
[3:18 PM] jBrereton: in that case: you have a few ways to do it
[3:18 PM] jBrereton: way 1: basic af method: literally use arcane bolt like a peon
[3:18 PM] filthincarnate: and also my dudes are magic beings, so spamming arcane bolt will result in friendly fire
[3:18 PM] filthincarnate: yeah that was my first thought
[3:18 PM] filthincarnate: yogis spamming arcane bolt
[3:19 PM] jBrereton: the pro strat is probably: do not have your magic beings patrolling in the province. have them keeping everyone else the gently caress off your thrones
[3:19 PM] filthincarnate: so what's the doom horror fighting squad look like
[3:19 PM] filthincarnate: fwiw i may have access to tartarians
[3:19 PM] jBrereton: it looks like: a bunch of gurus spamming arcane bolt with light of the northern star up. or yogis if you have plenty anyway
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: hmm okay
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: what's the line troop
[3:20 PM] jBrereton: the line troop is: stuff that just gets in the way
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: huh....mechanical militia or something?
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: i have ebdw
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: casting riches next turn
[3:20 PM] jBrereton: NOT mechanical militia
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: :wow:
[3:20 PM] jBrereton: because the horror doesn't care about them and they're magic beings
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: they are???
[3:20 PM] filthincarnate: lame
[3:20 PM] jBrereton: no you want like, animal horde or whatever it's called
[3:21 PM] jBrereton: you want like, a fuckton of spiders etc. just to get in the way while you own these horrors with magic
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: ah i assumed something brave
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: hmmm a bunch of thrones are uw
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: like
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: a bunch
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: that'll be finnicky
[3:21 PM] jBrereton: guardians of the deep it.
[3:21 PM] jBrereton: perfect.
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: hmmm!
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: i can cast that very easily
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: but
[3:21 PM] filthincarnate: is that good?
[3:22 PM] jBrereton: so the other alternative is: you use S3 mages with lotns up and cast opposition
[3:22 PM] filthincarnate: or am i being "trolled"
[3:22 PM] jBrereton: and hope you just roll in a way that blows up the horror
[3:22 PM] filthincarnate: hmmm
[3:22 PM] filthincarnate: well i'm planning to make a bunch of siddha
[3:22 PM] jBrereton: because at the end of the day: its gonna die to enough of that
[3:22 PM] jBrereton: siddhae are OK. how about having your rudras bane fire them if you have plans of conj 9. that'd be fun.
[3:23 PM] filthincarnate: hmmm
[3:23 PM] filthincarnate: well siddhas are teleporting communionable h3s that can cast mass flight, fog warriors, divine blessing, and celestial music, and as such are good for me, a guy with trouble getting bless coverage on his armies of murdersacreds
[3:24 PM] filthincarnate: i wasn't planning to go "all in" on the rudras and mostly use them for tartarians or maybe to cast foul air
[3:24 PM] filthincarnate: and maybe summon one (1) devata to hold wrath of god if i felt frisky
[3:24 PM] jBrereton: I guess the siddhas are fine. are you sure you can't win the game first?
[3:24 PM] filthincarnate: i'm not sure
[3:24 PM] filthincarnate: but i'm just looking ahead
[3:24 PM] filthincarnate: nobody else is even making a play i don't think os
[3:25 PM] filthincarnate: hmmm wait nevermind i can win the game
[3:25 PM] filthincarnate: i have to kill ermor and then ubar, my ally vs ermor
[3:25 PM] filthincarnate: but it's always good to have a backup plan
[3:25 PM] jBrereton: is ubar being played competently or not really
[3:26 PM] filthincarnate: they successfully fended off an early dogpile
[3:26 PM] filthincarnate: ynrn
[3:26 PM] filthincarnate: is playing them
[3:26 PM] jBrereton: hmm ok
[3:26 PM] filthincarnate: but they're a rump state
[3:26 PM] filthincarnate: their strat is to mass houris and shaytans
[3:26 PM] filthincarnate: and "be quasi-pan"
[3:26 PM] jBrereton: yeah I think they're a faction you want to delete ASAP.
[3:27 PM] filthincarnate: well guess what, i tried and the dogpile went south
[3:27 PM] filthincarnate: so now i'm allying with them to kill ermor, who is my primary rival
[3:27 PM] jBrereton: seems like the dogpile went OK if they're a rump state to this gamer
[3:27 PM] filthincarnate: they're not deleted and they're in the way of two thrones i need
[3:27 PM] filthincarnate: but yes it was a modest success
[3:27 PM] filthincarnate: i do have 27 earth gems a turn so i guess i could make lots of salt
[3:27 PM] filthincarnate: and just run over them
[3:28 PM] filthincarnate: when we've backstabbed ermor
[3:28 PM] jBrereton: :the sickos emoji:
[3:28 PM] filthincarnate: hahaha
[3:28 PM] filthincarnate: salt looks like it's a brand that goes in your misc slot and only works vs djinn
[3:28 PM] jBrereton: also some other ghosts
[3:28 PM] jBrereton: but yes, basically
[3:28 PM] filthincarnate: mm
[3:29 PM] jBrereton: it is a way for earth nations (which are usually already quite good at beating stuff up) to kick a ghost's rear end easily.
[3:29 PM] jBrereton: also the djinn are iron vulnerable and your dudes use iron weapons. you should be OK
[3:31 PM] filthincarnate:
but yes it was a modest success
the problem here was that ermor got boxed out of the dogpile by tc, and then backstabbed ulm right before ulm went for the cap, and then tc lost his celestial masters to seduction and gave up on ubar, instead attacking ermor and getting dumpstered. i made peace with ubar, not interested in risking an expensive cap fight before my battlemagic was online, and helped clean up ulm.
[3:31 PM] jBrereton: lmao
[3:31 PM] filthincarnate: yes it was a clusterfuck
[3:31 PM] filthincarnate: however i got a whole lot of something for nothing so
[3:31 PM] filthincarnate: all in all it went okay
[3:32 PM] filthincarnate: right now i'm in the process of buying ubar's loyalty by selling him back the fort i stole from him during that first war
[3:32 PM] jBrereton: powerful.
[3:32 PM] filthincarnate: :theartofthedeal:
[3:32 PM] jBrereton: remember and smash the lab up first
[3:32 PM] filthincarnate: no that's mean.
[3:32 PM] jBrereton: I GUESS
[3:32 PM] filthincarnate: he's an ally!
[3:33 PM] jBrereton:
[3:33 PM] filthincarnate: until i kill him later
[3:33 PM] filthincarnate: are those naiad warrioresses good
[3:33 PM] jBrereton: kydnids are sort of low HP
[3:33 PM] jBrereton: but they're not awful
[3:33 PM] filthincarnate: ermor took a bunch of lakes with merrow, i'm looking for an out-of-the-box army to clean up uw
[3:33 PM] filthincarnate: also to take uw thrones maybe
[3:34 PM] jBrereton: yeah they'll manage, especially once you do shark attack, make some elementals etc.
[3:34 PM] filthincarnate: that's the plan ya
[3:34 PM] filthincarnate: yakshini are amphib
[3:34 PM] filthincarnate: i'm gonna summon them instead of wasting cap turns recruiting tho i think
[3:34 PM] jBrereton: :sagacious:
[3:35 PM] filthincarnate: oh do you mind if i include some of our chats in the sslp
[3:35 PM] jBrereton: I don't mind at all, and apologies if any of the advice is bad and wrong
[3:35 PM] filthincarnate: no it's good
[3:36 PM] filthincarnate: jbrereton, consigliere (non-wartime_
[3:36 PM] filthincarnate: )
[3:36 PM] jBrereton: :wow:
[3:36 PM] jBrereton: if you have any tartarians another way you can fight the doom horrors is:

[2:25 PM] Ramc: my god is E5 yeah

that's 3 lanterns from abysia, so we're still paid up for 7 more before we have to place a new order.

:sickos:

i already said we were cooking with gas when we cast ebdw, so i guess now we're cooking with gas on all four burners. riches from beneath i believe caps out at roughly a 20% increase in gold yield from each of our provs, and it doubles the income of all mines (which you'll remember we've gotten a bunch of, due to our luck scales). this will safely put our income woes in the rearview mirror for quite a while.

anyway. to business.

looks like ermor's taking possession of the indie throne in former ulm. let's take a look

ermor's crew

have we seen one of ermor's mages before? here one is, if not. this is the big one.

indie army. bunch of trash.

boring fight. ermor's guys cast horde of skeletons tho. good to know.

random event

libertarianism.....

we're spending some of our newfound riches from beneath making a lab in the prov where we found the conj discount site; we're planning to take advantage of it next turn.

we finally have const6 so we're making a few of these. they should come in handy later.

looks like marv made it into sauro's cap circle. might be some fireworks soon.

meanwhile lanka has cracked his own cap. more on this story as it develops.

elsewhere yomi is filling his cap with trash summons. hellwars. whaddya gonna do

we're making a few of these, also. for logistics purposes.

that's the turn. btw, we've now officially had earth blood deep well up for four turns and it's now paid for itself, which means all of our earth gems from here on out are straight profit$$$$$$$

our research btw. we're going very hard in conj, conj gives us a lot of important stuff.

oh poo poo....broadening our view on yomi, it looks like they totally lost vs sauro. like sauro has all their poo poo.

brutal.

diplomacy:

talking to abysia:

[4:16 PM] PurpleXVI: I do like owning things.
[4:16 PM] filthincarnate: boom
[4:16 PM] filthincarnate: ubar's creeping stealthy raiders into position and i'm gearing armies
[4:16 PM] filthincarnate: we're gonna go in a couple turns
[4:18 PM] filthincarnate: probably you could just send a raiding party or two and scoop up free provs while ermor's distracted
[4:18 PM] filthincarnate: i imagine ubar and i will do the bulk of the fighting
[4:19 PM] filthincarnate: but it's always good to have another guest invited to the party, it'll encourage ermor to go ai
4:20 PM] PurpleXVI: Yeah, pincer movements can be very demoralizing.

talking to ubar:
[12:34 PM] filthincarnate: mmkay i'm making preparations, will be ready to go soonish
[12:34 PM] filthincarnate: summoning here, moving mages adjacent there, etc etc etc
[12:34 PM] filthincarnate: no rush ofc just being communicative
[3:13 PM] YNRN: Thanks for letting me know, the first couple parties are heading out now
[4:15 PM] filthincarnate:
[4:19 PM] filthincarnate: oh and abysia's reached out, they finally have a border with ermor
