It’s funny to see WSB going nuts over AOC, it kinda reminds me now of when 4chan was wasn’t a fascist shithole and was just a “gently caress you dad” type of politics shithole.

I don't get why you guys keep digging on bitcoin. One BTC is nearly $37,000 right now, and the whole "lol buttcoin" thing started back when it was less than $10. If anything, people making fun of it have been shown to be the losers. Disclaimer, I don't own any BTC.

I mean, it's still funny because it's actually worth 37,000 tether, a "stablecoin" used as an exchange medium instead of dollars on all the exchanges. Unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to change your tether for real dollars, and tether is used entirely to pump the value of bitcoin which is why the price is so high. Tether have created a few billion dollars on paper during this huge pump, have incredibly shady banking arrangements, and are currently under investigation by the NYAG and a whole bunch of other people. Bitcoin is still a giant house of card made entirely out of fraud. Not that this makes it impossible for some people to come out ahead, but it's entirely gambling and in no way implies any skill or knowledge. The $37000 valuation is merely an additional funny aspect of the whole bitcoin scam.

If the value of your "currency" has 10,000% swings throughout the year it's not a viable currency.

The Johnson and Johnson vaccine data is back, and it's very good. https://twitter.com/jbarro/status/1355140083544977408?s=19 https://twitter.com/AllisonLHedges/status/1355138753040408577?s=19 quote:In the more than 44,000-person study, the vaccine prevented 66% of moderate to severe cases of Covid-19, according to a company statement on Friday. And it was particularly effective at stopping severe disease, preventing 85% of severe infections and 100% of hospitalizations and deaths. https://twitter.com/MattGertz/status/1355141564432060416?s=19 We're mostly used to the absurd effectiveness numbers of Pfizer/Moderna, but this thing's good, easy to use/transport, and it'll sure help a lot.

I have one, it was worth 0$ when I created it, but after consuming enough electricity to power San Francisco for a week, it's value is now $10,000. So yeah I'm rich. What's that you ask? I'm guessing the J&J vaccine will be given to most folks and the other ones for more critical populations. Might make logistical rollout and supply a bit easier, but I have no idea how that works.

As Nero Danced posted:I'm guessing the J&J vaccine will be given to most folks and the other ones for more critical populations. Might make logistical rollout and supply a bit easier, but I have no idea how that works. Yeah that's probably what will happen once the supply gets sorta-caught up, then by late summertime you could likely get your pick. We're still in complete scramblemode, but the the cheapie, easy J&J vaccine turning severe COVID into a at-worst bad cold is an ideal vaccine for the less at-risk population. A lot of the scary, lovely state-level vaccination percentages are due to the two-dose requirement of Pfizer/Moderna. Can't shove everything you have into arms if there's not a good guarantee of the second dose showing up! Not to mention all of the extreme cold storage requirements at the storage site, temperature fluctuations killing doses in transport, etc. J&J has none of those logistical concerns - get doses, stick into fridge, stick into arms.
