Aw hunny, these came out GREAT!

Didn’t the NFL have a team called the Dallas Texans that eventually became the original Baltimore Colts in some fashion? I know there’s some insanity with how the Colts got founded that involved some old AAFC and NFL teams.

I think the Dallas Texans became the Kansas City Chiefs

I do not wear this mask to protect me. I wear it to protect you from me.

The AFL's Dallas Texans became the Chiefs, the NFL's Dallas Texans became the Colts. If you think that's bad, at various times the NFL had a Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Yanks and New York Yanks.

I did a modernized NFL Texans helmet awhile back .

There was another Dallas Texans before them in like 1952, as part of the NFL. Art Donovan told stories in old NFL Films stuff about how their paychecks could only be cashed at some random bank so all the players would be basically racing to get them cashed ASAP.

Some quick Wikipedia says the original Colts played from 47-50 and folded, then the Dallas Texans played in 1952, where their owners couldn’t afford to pay the players so the franchise ended up controlled by the league and playing in Ohio as a traveling team by the middle of a 1-11 season. After the season, the players and various other assets were used as the core of the new Baltimore Colts under Carroll Rosenbloom, which is the franchise everyone knows that had Unitas and now plays in Indianapolis.

I know you said you had an S in there, but I feel like the long face and enough curves lend themselves to hiding both a P & S in there.

Bottom row middle 2 look best. The black outline goes well against the blue.

Added some curves. I may get rid of the back "shine" with the curves in the center.

At the moment I like the one bottom row, second from the left.

I know of Cleveland (Rams), Decatur Staleys (the Bears) and Portsmouth (The Lions), NY Titans (Jets) and Boston Braves (former Redskins) I'm trying to think of other teams that moved and rebranded. The Chiefs/Texans and Titans/Oilers are modern enough that there are really good modern helmet designs for them.

I like bottom 3. The black outline stands out better on the grey field.

Yeah, echoing this, you honestly double or triple the punchlines present solely with the addition or omission of a silent pause, half the humor is knowing when not to say anything.
