There's a lot of extremely angry reviews on promuctreview.com.au from mid 2020 onwards which all mention the change in flavour and consistency, but who knows how much of that is based on recent experience or what they half remember from when they last ate a Vienetta in 1992 at their parents' dinner party, maybe accompanied by a House of Robert Timms French Press coffee and an After Eight after dinner mint. The last time I had Vienetta was few* years ago and it was exactly as I remembered it in the 90s so I'm kind of intrigued about how bad this new one is. The Cadbury commercial is also not updated for HD and is instead zoomed to fit the aspect ratio of widescreen. It looks like total poo poo. I guess they got their money’s worth out of it but goddamn make a new commercial.

Just a head's up that the Disney+ show Wandavision has been doing a tour of sitcoms from various decades in each episode-- 50s, 60s, 70s, and this week was the 80s. That means next week could be very relevant to this thread. Fair warning though: it's also a superhero show starring Marvel characters and it's not playing light with the continuity or metatextual flavor this time, so if that poo poo makes you break out in hives you should sit it out.

It's also filled with continuity porn and brand management, so if it distracts you to see a supporting character from Ant-Man or Thor show up or guess where they're setting things up for the wider MCU brands, you'll hate it.

It'd be interesting if they went with Married with Children instead of, say, Friends, for the 90s episodes since each subsequent era introduces more complexity/conflict. It'll probably be more like Mad About You, though.

I am from New Zealand, but this describes exactly all the dinner parties my parents or their friends hosted in 90's. I loved those After Eight after dinner mints so much.
