The best thing for tiles is making a paste with baking soda and bleach (they don't react), slathering it on, and leaving it for several hours. Just make sure you have good ventilation (or I don't know, wear a respirator or something).

Baking soda is great for cleaning because it is an abrasive, so don't use it on anything you don't want to scuff up.

Mixing the two is pointless. The acid and base react and you get salty water that is either slightly acidic or slightly basic, depending on the ratio your started with.

Especially if tou have hard water, a plain vinegar solution can work wonders, or mixed with a little dish soap. The acid will help dissolve minerals that are left behind and contribute to soap scum.

The baking soda is just there to act as an abrasive to help with scrubbing, not trying to like science volcano his shower. Also forgot to mention vinegar can be harsh on real stone so be careful with that. Also cause I'm an insufferable hippie don't use bleach unless it is so bad you are literally gonna rip the whole shower out if you can't get it white, it is overkill most of the time

It’s a lot to sacrifice not to live in The South, but it’s probably worth it.

My ongoing (but hopefully at the end of) bout of insomnia got me curious about my body and how my heart rate normally is and how it is when active, and how it and my oxygen is when I sleep so I got one. I know it's not a substitute for a sleep study but it'll at least satisfy my curiosity, and if there is some kind of sleep apnea warning sign (I haven't had any symptoms so I'm not thinking I do) it'd be nice to be alerted to it. I decided against a full on smart watch because I've tried it and found out I'm not into it. I just need something that tracks steps and heart rate while buzzing my wrist when I get a notification

Whatever happened to predictablity? Do your air purifiers put off any smell? The one I tried gives off a chemical-y/metallic smell.

No. You probably bought a ionizing one. Mine is activated charcoal and fabric hepa filter. That plus a drum fan. It's dead simple. It reduces odor and particulate.

I live in Oregon so if it's not flooding, it's on fire.
I'd take frozen and locked inside any day of the week.

Not a purchase but I was gifted a pressure washer and I cannot wait until spring to blast off every little bit of moss and dirt from my property. Probably going to gently caress up the paint on something but I don't care!

I bought a bomber jacket because I'm 40 years old and apparently going through a midlife crisis. I'd post it but I don't really like it and bought it when I was all high. I wore it to work and the first thing out of my co-worker's mouth was "Gonna sew a NASA patch on that thing, Maverick?"

edit:

gently caress it, in for a penny in for a pound

I'm still gonna wear it, but it isn't warm enough for this part of the winter.

Mine also has no odor, it's been working fantastically well the past few days and really helped with minor pet odor and air quality.

I bought a suede jacket last year before the lockdowns and worn it outside exactly twice because it was either too hot, raining/snowing, or, mostly, because there's nowhere to go lol.

I ordered the new iPad Air (2020) and the Pencil 2.

I accidentally put a not-small scratch in my original iPad Pro recently - I was holding my bag open with one hand and sliding the iPad in with the other, and with the way my hand was positioned the rock on my wedding ring raked across the screen :argh: I'd given up hope that I'd get any money for it when it came up to upgrade, but luck has it that a friend is looking for a cheap-ish iPad to do some light sketching and didn't mind the damage. My couch also ate my Pencil a few months ago so it has mostly been a glorified Media Slab. The opportunity was too good to pass up.

Unfortunately they don't have the pink colour I wanted in stock anywhere within a three hour drive, so I won't have it for another week or so.

We have that setup and while the pencil is nice it’s of limited use to me as I don’t draw. Makes for decent navigation of apps, but since you can’t use it for system navigation the functionality is a bit lacking. It was a gift so I don’t feel too bad about it. If you do take to drawing I’d take a look at a matte screen protector that provides a bit of paper like texture.
