Like, as soon as they saw an opportunity, they made it their entire life goal to convince me that all teachers are just lazy good-for-nothings and they're working with The Elites to make everyone's lives miserable. It was bizarre how widespread just visceral hatred of teachers is in America.

It's also a deep suspicion of expertise or even the notion of formal education itself. A good example is Conservapedia's concept "best of the public". Andy Schlafly repeatedly argued that "the best of the public", which is code for any unsupported ideas that align with conservative ideology, are a more valid and authoritative source of knowledge then research studies or testimony from people working in relevant fields. Or to quote directly "The best of the public is better than a group of experts."

I think another overlooked angle is that they hate teachers because they were probably lovely students in school. I mean, most of these fucks came from a time when teachers were probably still allowed to hit them or at the very least humiliate them in front of the class for being a fuckhead.
