This Carano thing is amazing. She's threaded a weird and interesting career through at least two industries, being a pioneering WMMA fighter (she was in the first televised women's mma fight) and one of the first real stars of women's mma, laying the groundwork for Ronda Rousey. She was good enough at it (actually bad) that losing to steroid monster Cris Cyborg didn't dent her image too much, successfully jumped over to acting, mixing really lovely DTV films with actually quite good DTV films, blockbusters and even whatever Haywire is (Haywire is real good don't @ me). She had remarkable good luck and good timing at literally every stage of this. She'd worked her way from being bad at MMA but in the right place at the right time to being an actual star with actual credits in some decent movies, and bigger things on the horizon. And then she aggressively pisses it all away in just a couple of days for the dumbest possible reason. It'd make a pretty good movie.
