Comfortador posted:They need space to sign Golladay Speaking of, holy poo poo there are so many free agent receivers this year. No way we can afford them: Allen Robinson, JuJu Smith-Schuster. Chris Godwin, Kenny Golladay We might be able to afford them: Will Fuller, Corey Davis, Marvin Jones, Sammy Watkins We might be able to afford them but they're old and bad now so I'd rather draft someone: A.J. Green, T.Y. Hilton, Willie Snead, Dez Bryant, Josh Gordon The second bucket is the Packers' sweet spot, I guess. Fuller might be in that first bucket if people overlook his injury troubles and the suspension. I'd be pretty happy with Davis, Jones, or Watkins to complement Adams.

Says he had a good relationship with Patricia. If you're inclined to, you could read between the lines there. Seems like there might be fire to the smoke of him trying to get Jones to LA.

Are the other three maybe a little overrated based on playing with another very good WR on their team to draw defensive attention? I don't watch any of them closely but JuJu broke out with AB there, Godwin has Mike Evans, and Golladay has (had) Jones. On the other hand Robinson has been consistently excellent with the worst complementary receivers, not to mention quarterbacks.

The Packers have “shown interest” in every free agent or player on the trading block. They typically offer 5 bucks and a bowl of soup.

J.J. Watt is too old and injured for however much salary he can get on the market. Unless he’s offering a DEEP home state discount, I’d say - Pass.

Yeah, he’d be fine as a rotation player who gives like 10-15 decent snaps a game, but you can’t pay him a bunch to do that.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel ran an article quoting some anonymous NFL execs who put Watt's price at five to seven million plus incentives. That sounds pretty reasonable to me for a pass-rush specialist who was top-10 in that role this past season (which was a down season for him anyway), according to PFF. Then again, another source in that article said $8.5 million, which would be tougher to swallow.
