Someone really needed to have an intervention with Nash about the makeup and wigs poo poo. Nash isn't nearly as funny as he thinks and they all drag so long. EDIT Oh sonofabitch. The luchadores in a pinata on a pole match with Oklahoma on commentary may be the worst segment I've seen in this entire marathon. I'm trying to will Ed Ferrara's head to explode like in Scanners. One a lighter note, one of my favorite things in wrestling is when a promotion decides that instant replay suddenly exists to cheat the fans out of a happy ending. It feels like one of the most lovely things you can suddenly pull on the audience... So of course Russo books it when Larry beats Hennig to get rid of The Powers That Be.

In kayfabe, is Goldberg the "best" wrestler ever? In terms of win rate and how he was booked, and who he has beaten.

CptAwesome posted:In kayfabe, is Goldberg the "best" wrestler ever? In terms of win rate and how he was booked, and who he has beaten. Probably somebody like Thesz, Sammartino or Andre. Goldberg had plenty of decisive wins, as in short dominating matches, but he was also involved in a lot of bullshit. Thesz and Sammartino were from the era where titles were very protected, making both look very strong, and both were at the very top of the cards for a long time. Andre's job was to go around and massacre people and kayfabe-wise, he was extremely good at it. He was the babyface feud settler and was very rarely put in position to lose. Hogan and Ultimate Warrior were barely touched for years as well. Warrior's stamina wasn't great, so he won fast, easily and quickly. As Warrior, he might have a higher win percentage than Hogan.

I'm sure there's a ton missing from this, especially in terms of older wrestlers, but: http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers-with-highest-win-percentages.html Cena sticks out to me as a guy who, while not quite as protected as Goldberg in WCW or Warrior in WWF, had a much longer period of dominance, and seems like a guy who beat lots of big names, in contrast to Goldberg having a Jerry Flynn or Scott Putski sacrificed to him every night. I'd say he's similar to a Sammartino or Andre in terms of being the top guy for a long time, but it's tough to compare between eras in terms of who had tougher opponents.

4th is pretty good. I was thinking of his return too, and how.that might be considered. Comes back after 12 and a half years and beats Brock, the streak ender, in a couple of minutes. Also going over the Fiend in his only pinfall loss too. I think comparing wrestlers after the advent of weekly shows where the big stars wrestle each other more often to the old days where it was squash matches is difficult. Also The Shockmaster has the 9th best win record which is pretty funny
