One of the issues you might have with selective breeding, depending on species. And yeah I knew about the temporary pool thing I just didn't imagine they would basically start dropping eggs nonstop, though it does make sense.

Do crab muscles get stronger of they work out with resistance? If I had special crab exercise equipment and somehow forced or trained a crab to work out, would I eventually end up with a bulky musclecrab?

Crabs have muscles, they're just covered by the tip-top. They have a bunch of tendons or ligaments or whatever too that gives them added strength and control, like how humans have fine motor control without muscles in our hands, on top of the benefits of an exoskeleton. But they do have big muscles responsible for stuff like leg movement and snip-snopping.
