Uh... It's summer in Australia right now... and Greenland has warmer temperatures than us...  Edit: yeah, having checked the global map from monday, pretty sure the one posted is FUBAR. It says "anomaly" on the map, so I think it's how much hotter or colder than average for this time of year it is there rather than absolute temperature.
