When I moved to NYC from the midwest, they had assigned seating. I don't do that poo poo so when people asked me to move I had to put my pants back on and shuffle away while drinking the pint I brought in. They didn't care about the pint but they did care about the pants.

When I moved from NYC to Frisco, they cared about the assigned seat like New Yorkers but not the pants being off. The pint? That was unacceptable. Even when I was in my seat, me drinking some booze by myself was unacceptable.

When I moved from Frisco to Oakland, I found my people. Nobody gives a poo poo about anything. When I'm at Grand Lake occasionally someone wants to share popcorn and there is a surprise for me. I've found my people.

I remember registering an account posing as an 80 year old super conservative veteran. The long game was going to be slowly revealing that he was also openly gay and very much into leather culture but I lost interest pretty much immediately and forgot about it.

In retrospect I doubt it would have been as funny as I thought it would be at the time.

There are plenty of people who aren't glad he's dead because they just morally cant/wont take pleasure in someones' death. But you can easily separate them from the centrists because they'll still say he was a hatemonger and it's good his show is over.

It's really similar to the punch nazis thing, where the bad guys aren't really people opposed to using violence. It's the people who never really developed their own set of ethics, and just parrot whatever seems like it'll keep society chugging along in a way that keeps them safe and comfy.

Also a reminder that the term "fake news" originated specifically in reference to Russian-owned "news" sites aimed at conservatives which pumped out fraudulent, inflammatory articles against BLM, Hillary, Dems in general, all in an effort to help one of our lesser-known presidents Domnald G. Yeah, there was some rabbi I saw tweet "I'll never celebrate someone's death, but there's definitely people I won't mourn." And if that's where someone is at that place that's perfectly fine. It's the assholes that are like "even if you didn't like him, you have to recognize his influence and how he changed media" and it's like, yeah, I recognize how he changed media, it loving sucked, that's why I'm cackling gleefully at his death.
