It's good to hear that because America did nothing there were no bombs in Syria. I was kind of under the impression that there was quite a bit of aerial bombing.

Personally I kind of doubt that any level of state involvement by America in Syria would have had a positive effect, but again I kind of don't I feel compelled to correct somebody who saw and smelled the loving corpses on their interpretation of the events in the place. I don't compulsively follow the poo poo the man says online, but what I have heard from him on Iraq and Afghanistan has been overwhelmingly critical. no but they refer to it as economic impact payment 2 (EIP2) so it will be interesting what they call the 1400 to adhere to their tortured framing of it 'raising' the amount of this check to a total of 2k.

they'll have to call it something like an addendum to EIP2 because if they try to call it EIP3 then, joe biden, you have been bested by your own logic :viggo:

i dont think checking your brain at the door because someone can tell a compelling story about the horrors they have witnessed, and who then takes US state department cash while ingratiating themselves with the left, is a good idea. plenty of other people have witnessed incredibly bad poo poo and do not become interventionists. that isn’t like, the default, rational, or even the most likely outcome from having been to a nation experiencing conflict. probably a better idea to have a bit more of a critical sense about people who advocate certain foreign policy while taking money from US foreign policy outfits like “national endowment for democracy”

any emotional appeal to intervention is always funny as hell because we could end hunger tomorrow with the money we use on intervention guaranteed and prevent way more death and human suffering that way, but that doesn't get raytheon money. but people get blown into little giblets when they die in a warzone, I guess. shocking stuff, lets buy more laser guided missles.

I mean it's perfectly human to have emotions but if that drives your politics instead of materialism then you've hosed up. Also it's one thing for you a nobody to think interventionism is understandable and another for a fuckin pseudo-journo to take wads of state dept cash to boost interventionism. But I don't think Evans is a well-meaning but misguided anarchist or w/e, I think he is a materialist and understands "my job is to push this line so that I get paid" and does not give a gently caress about the outcomes of that for, say, the bolivian people.

E: but also which one of these things Evans is does not actually matter because the effect is the same.

I don't know poo poo about Bolivia, but the things he's covered that I do know anything about are consistent with my readings. Particularly his takes on Weimar Germany, interwar America, and the invasion of the Ukraine. He's also covered material I'm unfamiliar with but looked into his research on that was more or less unreproachable. I'm skeptical that a CIA asset would publicize the poo poo he's publicized on the Portland protests or the history of the police in America or CIA involvement in Central America or or or or.
