Maybe. There's been a rumor/supposed leak since FFH released that Marvel really, really wants the MCU Spidey to be a high schooler, and they think the character and actor are aging out of that.

The archmage of unexpected stinks.

Isn't all of that not up to them anyway? The contract was also with Sony.

There's no incentive for Sony to sign off on that.

This would be stupid and I hope they know better, it's just kicking the can down the road anyway.

In the same interview where he said this was the last one on his contract he also said he'd sign to make 10 more without a moment of hesitation and even added that Sony and Marvel have worked out their deal now and something like what happened after Far From Home is not likely to happen again. He said he just wanted a little break before the next one.

What you do is have Tom Holland retire as Spider-Man. However the MCU introduces four new heroes: Dusk, Hornet, Prodigy and and Ricochet. All of them are played by Tom Holland. There is no reference made to "Spider-Man" at any point.

Why? They’re fun, and technology has progressed to the point that Mortal Kombat 11 is pretty much just a long movie with some fighting interludes. Hell, I’ve never played either The Last of Us games, but I watched them.

Mortal Kombat brought peace to a thread on the break of destruction. That being said Sonya's MK 9 costume is beyond terrible, even compared to the other terrible costumes the women have in this game.

I mean, I don't want to tell a crappy version of his own story, but I think he used to have like a Gamefaqs thing that charted everyone's backstories and it got the attention of some of the writers, he talked to one of them (I think John Vogel?) who gave him props for it, Gavok explained his theory that Noob Saibot was actually the original Sub-Zero due to their timelines linking up and their shared fatalities and Vogel liked the idea so much that he got approval to use it.

That's pretty much it exactly.

Lurdiak posted:

Yeah so they killed his rear end offscreen in the games, and when they brought him back in 4 due to fan demand he was much more of a joke character.

They actually brought him back for MK Trilogy as played by a different actor (and realizing that it would be cooler to just have him fight with sunglasses on). Interestingly enough, his MKT storyline was played really serious. He was killed during the invasion, but Kahn took over Earthrealm right when Cage's soul was supposed to cross over. He's alive again, but knows that saving the day will undo that and kill him. He insists on doing the right thing and all the other good guys are inspired by his determined selflessness.

It's always struck me weird how much 90s comics DNA is in Mortal Kombat when the first batch of games were made using digitized scans of films instead of drawrings

MK's proximity to DC almost feels like an inevitability at this point

Neither Coates nor Abrams are names I'd have expected to see attached to Superman and I can't imagine what that combined angle on him is gonna look like. It'll be neat to find out.

The first half of his Black Panther run and his Captain America run are both excellent comics. The current half of his Black Panther leaves a lot to be desired. But I have no doubt he'll absolutely nail Superman.
