Really just repeating what the reply said but it's amusingly dumb that the only people who think the autopilot is good are people who don't know how to drive.

We can't tell from the video, that could have been the safest maneuver in that that situation (like if someone was tailgating and the left lane was wide open). Theoretically the autopilot is better situated to make a decision and pull that maneuver off correctly than a panicked human would, but it's anybody's guess whether this was a carefully balanced safety decision or just random garbage from the Tesla computer that happened to not kill the human this time.

Yeah, and I guess crossing the chevrons to cut off a semi is also not good.

Apparently the overtaking and crossing back right was the person after taking control back

Volmarias posted:What exactly is this even doing? Just rolling around being extremely noisy? it's mostly just there to be a visible sign of authority. comparable to paying a guy to stand around in a security uniform all day, except cheaper, and instead of yelling at black people it just takes photos of them and threatens to call the cops it's enough to scare or annoy some people away, while being a very clear and conspicuous sign that whoever rented the robot is Doing Something

A driver would see that the truck was trying to merge and pull back to let it in. Instead the autopilot actively prevented them from merging and instead pulled a dangerous maneuver to get ahead of it.

The AP was shown reacting for less than a second in that video. It isn't going to hit the gas and start performing elaborate illegal maneuvers like delamain from cyberpunk lol. A lot of tesla criticism seems to come from a place of tech illiteracy.

It’s true that the driver takes control and makes the dangerous overtake through the gore, but LOL at the idea that that conclusion is reachable with “tech literacy”. What’s next? Economic literacy tells us that the market is efficient and TSLA is actually as valuable as every other automaker combined?

Anything “tech” deployed by a local pd or the more incompetent parts of the feds like DHS will almost definitely be a third party vendor device that will have an attack surface a mile wide, which is very cyberpunk dystopia but kinda cool.
