I'm fairly sure it would be impossible for that water to somehow be able to power the hair drier, while at the same time not flipping a breaker. The water behind the socket also isn't separated in any way, so there's no way it would somehow carry the charge from the sockets spewing out without also causing a short-circuit inside the socket. The power for that circuit is very likely cut, and they're just loving around. Water spewing out of the walls is however a separate, giant issue. (The flash is just them turning up the brightness on the video, pretty sure.)

It has to have a lot of stuff dissolved in it to conduct well.

Bunch of big earthquakes off New Zealand this morning, a 7.3, a 7.4 and then an 8.1. All pretty shallow quakes, the 7.3 and the 8.1 both around 20km depth. Couple of little tsunamis hit, nothing over a meter high but there was still some pretty large evacuations.
