y'all with your "nothing to look forward to". we have the endless fun and joy of the 2021 Holyrood election! will the SNP be the largest party by miles, or will it be Scottish Labour, newly invigorated by their grand new strategy of changing their leader and not really doing much else of any interest? it's anybody's game

I am probably going to go back to workers and resources soviet republic once the new update comes out and build a helicopter centric socialist society.

Also been having fun making nice houses in valheim, very bright, colourful game which is nice in this weather.

There's a fair bit of jank but the games thread i am sure would be happy to help work through stuff, it took me a lot of getting used to. But the new update should help with making nice parallel roads and stuff and also includes some really nice QoL visualization tools that I think it needed.

Also I think everyone accidentally kills the entire country because half a dozen people didn't turn up for their shift at the heating plant at least once. Which is the future that jeremo crobly wanted for all of us.

Also a sober dwarf is probably a pretty accurate description of my general demeanour so yeah it's probably literally cave adaptation.

I've just retreated into video games. I mean. Its my job, but still.

Built a giant stone toilet in Valheim, killed a captain for legendary drops about 400 times in outriders, reinstalled grim Dawn and modded it to hell so its just a loot fountain simulator for the wife and I to blow off steam with and been kicking barrels, drinking and occasionally mining in deep rock galactic.

I highly recommend because watching Starmer make the wet eggs face on TV and the audience applaud then say they're going to vote for dishy rishy is no way to spend a weekend.

I also dug two holes in my lawn, made fajitas that were too spicy, planted two trees and had a lot of gin.

I actually took Minecraft back up again for a bit and it's shocking how much things can change over a decade and yet I'm still willing to waste hours of my like clicking at cubes in order to effect change around other cubes.

The newest game to waste my time is Breathedge which is both a crafting survival game and The Stanley Parable as written by an extremely nihilist Russian.

Minecraft is really good though, it's lego but without the price tag.

Like as a game it's got some problems and I wish it wasn't on java but fundamentally it is a creative exercise and thus a very good thing.

for those who like both minecraft and incredibly byzantine engineering projects, may i suggest the gregtech new horizons modpack

file iron bars down into rods and saw them in half and turn the resultant bolts on a lathe to get screws to make a water tank to supply your boilers to drive steam turbines to fill battery boxes to power your ore pulverising machines to make dust that you electrolyse to get aluminium that you blast furnace to make ingots that allow new machines

it is arguably a crime to suggest it to people unused to modded minecraft but hell, gotta start somewhere

I've mostly lost interest in games lately, kind of blows. I should really go back to Persona 4 Golden sometime. Or Yakuza 4.

But mostly I'm watching more wrestling than ever and being nerdy about it by keeping a poorly constructed spreadsheet with info of all the shows I've watched in 2021 and all the matches and my ratings of them all. I wish I'd also kept a list of all the lengths of matches so I could know how many days I've spent in 3 months watching fake fighting.

For whatever reason it's my go to when I've got 2-3 hours to kill. But whatever you enjoy, innit? Well, within reason.

I was going to make a games post, but then I was reminded:

Why is that missing woman in South London such big news? Or is it just the usual "young, white, female, fairly attractive, has some friends with good connections"... because even a cursory glance at the current list of missing persons in London shows a raft of people who are obviously more vulnerable, or who've been missing longer.

Because shes young, white, female, fairly attractive with good connections, it scares the poo poo out of those connections, and those connections have a larger platform to play out their anxieties.

I mean my brother has a girlfriend who roughly fits in the same bracket, and both my parents and hers are making GBS threads themselves right now. Shes not even close to that part of London ffs
