This is so they can make the trips more comfortably, and with the whole "I'm saving the planet" self-satisfaction. Am I wrong here?

IMO current train prices are absolute garbage (comparable to flight prices in my experience) so the idea of actually improving service/making trains faster makes sense IF THEY KEEP CURRENT PRICES (which I’m sure they wouldn’t) but also I am not usually going to places accessible by train so
