Sounds like the game's commercial was the best part and involved the most effort. If it wasn't promoted and just popped up in app stores, people would probably be tweeting at them constantly asking if this is a real AEW thing and then they'd have to answer questions about why they didn't promote it. It'd probably feel skeevier to not promote it at all than to try and sneak it under the radar.

I put together a fun Fire Pro 100-man Royal Rumble. Everyone in it is a wrestler from a video game. Sometimes Fire Pro can deliver the good poo poo. The final, Ishii/KUSHIDA, and Shingo/Iizuka especially felt like they had real narratives--and having the NL boys losing their minds helps too.

A lot of Fire Pro World DLC is for sale on the PSN Store, is there a handy list of what you need to have for any and all CAWs to work? I feel like all the ones I was subscribed to stopped working en masse after something came out and I haven’t figured out what. So I'm running a game with a promotion called Glory Pro Wrestling and I made a championship called the "Premier Openweight Glory" because I wanted something with "Openweight" and "Glory" in it as well as having the initials spelling an actual word. I just now realized the titleholder is a POG champ.

It's literal hours of gameplay before you get to having an actual match. There's a weird thing the 2k games got into with their showcase modes/towers/etc., even before Yukes split. In 2k14 your main showcase mode is 30 Years of Wrestlemania, a bunch of big Mania matches, and in those matches you have the option of going for specific spots and conditions that unlock wrestlers or other things. In 2k20's showcases and a lot of story mode, they now make those conditions/spots mandatory for progress- like you can't win the match until you've gotten Dolph Ziggler in the corner at red health and hit him with a running attack or whatever. It's one of the most baffling decisions in a game full of them.

It's one of the most baffling decisions in a game full of them. i watched the giant bomb quick look of 2k20 and this in particular looks like very possibly the least fun implementation of a fighting game of any kind, ever. it’s like a mandatory qte that doesn’t show you the buttons
