I joined SA in 2007 and wow I was 14 at the time  Definitely feel like I've spent way too much time in my life on here but I've enjoyed reading and talking about games and other things so much I don't regret it honestly

i have been playing a source port of wolfenstein 3d on my emulator handheld and man this game really holds up. it’s very simple and repetitive—usually one episode is the most i want to play in one sitting—but it’s still addictive and thrilling. the sound design is especially impressive. walking into a new room and blasting what appears to be the only nazi, only to hear half a dozen “achtung!”s and “schutzstaffel!”s echo from around you, is still as much of a heart-in-throat moment as it ever was. i am also playing wolfenstein 2: the new colossus on switch and honestly wolf3d is more fun

I played through all of the Stubbs rerelease thinking that the scripting was broken and some of the music cues failed to happen, but I looked up an LP of the original and it doesn't have the specific music cues I remembered either. Did I just imagine them? It was 15 years ago...
