Catching up on the thread today was unpleasant and boring, special mention to Scikar for lamenting about 'targeted harassment' being bad while actively putting the boot in to do that exact thing and Bobby Deluxe for actively lying to the point that it being a potentially honest accident doesn't logically parse, but they are just the shiniest pieces of sweetcorn amongst a broader poo poo. I'm not going to be bullied away, and apparently you lot aren't going to stop making GBS threads up the thread trying to bully me away, the only options seem to be; 1. 'I make a massive effortpost responding to all the dogshit attacks you've made and we settle it in the marketplace of ideas', which would be the obvious answer except you'd never admit fault and functionally it would just give you more fodder to be tediously angry about, or 2. Actually block me and stop talking about me, at the very worst it would mean parallel discussions and those are far from abnormal in most online spaces and it would mean we could talk about other stuff. I'm fine with 1 or 2 happening but cannot stress enough that 3. 'you lot bully me into leaving or bully mods into pretending i've broken ToS' is absolutely not happening in the former and seems not to be a goer in the latter, stop making GBS threads up the thread whinging about me. I still wonder if that powerful punch in the organs I got in early January 2020 was covid because the description of symptoms for a non-hospitalisation case were all there for me and it was the first time in my life I worried I was going to die from an illness. Obviously the idea that covid was in the UK in Jan 2020 seems rather ridiculous given how bad it was when it actually struck. All I can say is that having had something with similar symptoms I absolutely do not want to get what could potentially be that but deadlier.

I've always made pornstar martinis like a traditional sour cocktail in a 3/2/1 spirit/acid/syrup ratio (in this case using vanilla vodka/lime juice/passoa) but also chucking the half of the passion fruit that you're not using as a garnish into the mixer. The old fashioned recipe upthread forgot sugar: put a sugar cube in a tumbler, saturate it in angostura, muddy it in half a shot of water, then throw in 3 measures of bourbon & stir it around a whole bunch with a big block of ice & an orange rind that you've burnt around the edges with a lighter. Lot of people talking about whisky sours, my advice on this one is not to forget an egg white. I like a very thin slice of orange as a garnish. Since the OP was talking about shaking: whisky sours & pornstar martinis are about the only cocktails I'd shake, stir anything that doesn't have fruit pulp or egg in. For citrus-based cocktails I swear by using bottled juice & stirring, then pouring through a tea strainer. Trust me, I'm a professional. (drinker, not mixer, the latter is just a prerequisite) e: the burnt orange rind thing is a good one btw, also works very well in a negroni (2 shots each of good gin/campari/red vermouth, stirred with the rind & an ice block, everyone raves about my negroni despite the fact that it's literally the easiest thing lol) e2: oh also shake espresso martinis, obviously, those are fun & easy to make delicious Borrovan fucked around with this message at 00:39 on Mar 21, 2021 |

I can't stand any of the egg white cocktails. I grew up during the salmonella panic so raw eggs basically skeeve me the hell out. Euugh. My darling partner asks me to ask the thread about any cocktails with soy sauce. I think she's trolling us, goons. It's *possible* that the first hospitalisations and deaths were actually in December, but as they weren't testing for it then it's impossible to say.
